Brian Magee talks about Bute, Kessler and Froch (post fight conference)

That interview has value in the sense that Brian Magee has been in the ring with Froch and sparred quite a bit with Kessler I believe, therefore he's in a better position to compare all of them, than any other poster making comments on this board.

 

When Froch fought Magee he had only had 17 fights so was barely out of the novice stage. Froch far better now than he was then.

NB What is Bute doing fighting shop worn C+ fighters like Magee anyway? Magee is at least five years past his best and his best wasn't anything special.

 

Magee is better than C+ even now, and even past his best gave a hard argument to consensus top three SMW (people disagree on the ordering of Froch/Ward/Bute...but nobody denies they're the top three)

His efforts in the ring deserve respect, as does his first-hand expertise.

notice how he said that he was brought in to spar with Kessler to help him prepare for Calzaghe, but that Kessler was having hand troubles so they didn't really spar much.

His efforts deserve respect but you are over rating him if you think he is ANYthing better than B- or C+. Id go as far to say he is C+ at best and more like a C level fighter.

I'd rate Andrade a B level and he would knock Magee clean out.
