Still find it amazing that a guy that has trained for years as a fighter and mixed at highest level as a AM and been exposed to top class sparring and training in Am's and worked with trainers at start of career lacks fundamental values in ring and can't even beat a fighter like Banbula who isn't very good at all. Awkward but really and truly that's awful to draw to him.

    I'm not convinced.

Jeffries has way too many technical issues to iron out imo, he makes the kind of mistakes you would expect of a complete novice who's just walked into the gym to make. Jeffries sense of distance is poor, and that is something that you gradually get a feel for over the years, the more and more you box, only he seemingly never has, he still overshoots his punches, which makes him fall in etc.

Being a master of space time and distance, Jeffries aint.

He'll win a British title. People are going too far. Even his power could see him through to domestic titles.

You think so? His power is definitely his saving grace and could see him get in there at domestic level i can see him getting title shot but im not sure about him wining them unless he faces really poor opposition

I think he has the raw materials to do something in the Pros. He needs rebuilding though, from the ground up.

Give the guy a chance, it is disrespectful not only to Jeffries but boxers in general to just label them '****' or a 'bum' because you don't think they will win domestic or major titles.

Jeffries, has always came across as a real gentleman outside the ring. Give him a chance to improve with Brooks. As someone said on here, he definitely has heavy hands to get himself in the frame for domestic titles at least, and I was impressed with his hand speed in his last fight.

He's been awful to watch since he turned pro. I suspect he's quite good in the gym and then all the hard work goes out of the window when he steps in the ring. When he was fighting on all those Sunderland cards, it was obvious he was just wanting to please his home crowd and KO his opponent asap, rather than using his boxing skills. He must have some.

He hasn't been great so far, but good luck to him.

Just put the work in, let his trainers lead him and hopefully it'll come together for him.

i spoke to Jeffries in Manchester when Quigley got beat up off that lad Jeffries schooled , he said he's been sparring in LA loads with the Black russian ismaly shikra or how ever you spell it and other top pro fighters ,

he's cut re-opened and need it stitched scare tissue cut out,

i've heard hes a great lad and this was the 1st time ive met him , he was sound had loads of time for me and my mate , we where speaking for a while did not realise how big he was till i stood next to him, i'd be surprised if he could make super middle like he told me , i think he's kidding him self there

i wish him all the luck in the world and i really think he can go on to european level

Gotta give the guy a break - six months ago most (incl. me) said he needs to a) get a new trainer; b) **** off from Sunderland, and c) work extremely hard in the gym from top to bottom. He has definitely done the first two and its unlikely Brookes would put up with a lacklustre attitude in training - so he is probs fulfilling c) as well.

Seems like this guy gets far too much unwarrented **** - Bellew aside in a 6/9 months he wont be far away from British champ

    :good

Sometimes there is an absurd attitude on this forum regarding prospects, if you struggle in one fight then you're written off for good it seems. He needs to be given a few fights with his new trainer to see what improvements have been made. He's doing all the right things in terms of trying to better himself and he certainly didn't pick up an Olympic medal by having no ability.

I remember after his pro debut everybody was saying Jeffries was the one would make it big in the pros, not DeGale. Ridiculous to write him off already.

Sunderland shouldn't have a representative. It's like cockroaches electing a spokesman.
