How do you see it playing out? Call the fight, how will it look like early rounds, middle rounds? Will Pacquiao Respect JMM? Will JMM go in for the kill at 1st round? This fight will possibly be happening Novemeber as we all know Mayweather ain't gonna fight JMM will soon be a free agent and looking for a direct path to the biggest fight of his life... soon after this is signed Money he will Contact HBO for a come back fight lol... but he is irrelevant now. SO call this more likely fight.
Freddie Roach's own words......."Manny Pacquiao is a natural Jr. Welterweight." There is absolutely no ****ing reason why a 3rd matchup between Marquez and Pacquiao should not be held at 140 lbs. Who wins at 140 lbs? Marquez wins it again! Who gets the decision? There is more reason to give the decison to Pacquiao now than there was then. There is no question that as long as there are at least a handful or rounds that are competitive, having won them or not, Pacquiao once again will get the decision. Lets be real here people. In order for Marquez to get an official win on paper, he needs a knockout......and thats a fact!:deal
I as many other fans would love a fight to be at 140 just to be at a more even place... but Arum will not do that nor Roach will allow it. 144 Seems more legit since Mayweather put this offer but didn't honor it. Hoping Pac's team at least does what mayweather did but honors the contract to save face with the public and Media.. because if the fight is contracted at 147 it will look bad on PAC's team and there will be things said because of that.. I'm hoping for 144 and expecting 147... Still can't wait... At least JMM will finally get what he has wanted for so long.. closure. It will be the biggest fight of his life and he will come very prepared. Can't wait.
It all depends on how JMM approaches the weight. If he feels he needs to muscle-up to take Pac's punches better, he might give up too much speed and mobility. I don't feel too good about JMM with a 144 catchweight and allowing a potential weight discrepancy but it wouldn't be as bad as with Floyd. If not...then we'll have to see how his stylistic changes handle Pacquiao. He has shown improvement in handling pressure (Look at Diaz 1 and then Katsidis), and that might be a recognition of diminishing reflexes and spring in the legs. His control of distance was very key, however, and if he is too past it to do that against an elite mobile fighter like Pacquiao, then it doesn't look good. I could see a somewhat tentative first round with Pacquiao making Marquez look a bit slow but not without getting hit himself, setting the stage for a good fight. I also see Marquez possibly going down early, 3rd round perhaps. I see the Middle Rounds being violent trading due to Marquez's increased relentlessness and willingness to throw combinations after counters. He can't wait on Pacquiao too much and he wants to make a statement. Pacquiao's athletics and volume probably win him a bloody stoppage on cuts, or an offensively won decision. If he knocked JMM out cold it would be the end of him. It all depends on how Marquez comes in and what state he comes in. If his body can go 12 hard rounds, if he conditions the right way, if he is honest with his own past mistakes and studies the latest Pacquiao, then he could win a hard-fought decision. It is simply very difficult to predict how his stylistic adaptations to his aging will do against Pacquiao. I see his increased reliance on bobbing & weaving and coming forward as having various advantages and disadvantages. He sure as hell won't be flat footed though. I'd personally prefer if he waited after Mayweather; it would be cool to see a more balanced "Thrilla in Manilla" type thing if Pacquiao beat Mayweather like Ali did Foreman. Goddamit Floyd step up. Pacquiao beats his legacy's defining opponent, Marquez establishes himself against an elite at 140, and they exit their careers saying farewell with another classic.
Listen Doc, when Pacquiao chooses to fight a fighter in Mosley who was dominated by Mayweather in his own comfortable weight class, and who looked like utter **** against Mora who btw lost his next fight...... .....sorry bro, but there is no shame in these people and they dont give a **** what the public would think. The casual fan who buys the PPV does'nt know the difference between whether the fight is contracted at 140 or 160 lbs anyways which is what Arum looks at.... all they know its that its Manny Pacquiao fighthing and anything else is irrelevant.
at 140, 144 or 147, it doesn't matter, they would be roughly the same size come fight night. also at any weight, jmm is unproven so there would be no credit for pac what so ever, especially from haters. jmm should have at least fought a legit 140 champ before a pac fight but he would rather, fight 135 contenders and sit it out and wait for pac. the only reason this fight get's mentioned is because of the two close fights jmm had with pac and not because jmm had proven himself above 135.
JMM is unproven at 140 lbs, thats why this fight makes more sense at 147 lbs?......what an idiot you are!:nut
