There's no footage of Robinson at 147, just written accounts & his record. There hasnt been a better WW since Leonard. He was special.
I would rank him no. 2 all time behind the welterweight version of SRR, who was never even really challenged, except by Middleweight LaMotta in one of their many fights, at 147. For "who beats who," I rank Hearns three, although he is not the third most accomplished welterweight champ. I just think that Hearns at welter beats any other welter of all time not named Sugar Ray.
Although I have SRR at no. 1 and SRL at no. 2, your position is obviously a reasonable one as well. Both he and Hearns would wreak havoc on the WW's of today.
:think Not sure. I would have him top 3 I think but I can only say top 5 with certainty. I mean the more you read about and/or watch guys like Gavlian, Napoles, Ross etc. The more it gets you thinking.
:huh [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qORkfNNnYA[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNV9pMgzOjk&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjmymFHotQg&feature=player_embedded[/ame] Leonard is #2, or #3. The Duran loss hurts him a little bit because it was really during his prime. Armstrong arguably has a superior resume at 147 with a win over Ross and a ton of title defenses.
Why not bring it to General? Hopefully people read it and learn that little bit more. People who don't post on classic can also contribute.
