Gatti? We aren't talking about C level fighters. We are talking about fights between two "elite" fighters.

No it wasn't because Tito had already lost, had retired for 3+ years and was clearly on the decline. Plus, Winky didn't beat Tito with a overall performance. It was mostly with the jab. Still an amazing performance though but not up there with Hopkin's IMO.

:patsch No he wasn't. He was taking guys out at 154 and he had just destroyed Joppy at 160. He was undefeated and was a top 3 P4P fighter and a 4/1 favorite.

    toney vs ruiz
    toney vs jirov
    calzaghe vs lacy
    floyd vs gatti/corralles

were all far better and more entertaining than old man river beating a blown up welterweight.

A recent impressive display was Agbeko against Yohnny Perez.

King Kong looked great after being inactive for more than a year and he did it in a fight where he was the underdog against the last fighter who beat him.

Hopkins-Trinidad was a better clinic than Hamed-Barrera, because it was a complete shut-out performance, resulting in a knockout to put the cherry on top. The scorecards for Hamed-Barrera were a lot closer than people seem to remember.

Hopkins-Pavlik is another one. As well as Hopkins-Tarver.

Damn, Hopkins is the ****in' man at schooling people!

Also the fact that HBO took a poll the week before the fight and 89% said Tito would win.

My personal favorite was Floyd Mayweather vs. Diego Corrales.

:dealThank you! Don't worry about people on here discrediting Hopkins win, they're haters. Trinidad got shutout but he held his own against the best MW of recent times. Also for those saying Hopkins picks on "smaller fighters", Pavlik was taller than him and Tarver was the man to beat at lt hvy while Hopkins was the smaller man moving up while being an underdog in both fights.

Interesting. I like how the haters ignore this and go all out their way to discredit Hopkins but fail to realize that they're not giving credit to Trinidad for moving up. Yes Trinidad was at his best as a WW but he was still dangerous when he fought Hopkins.
