Magee actually did a decent job of stepping up to the edge of mid range, then feinting before moving in with his attacks, I felt that was offsetting Bute's timing somewhat. Bute for his part, should of been using his speed to get off first when Magee was doing this, instead of laying back waiting for counter punching opportunities that were not forthcoming.

I remember watching Bute's fight with Andrade and thinking that he didn't seem to deal well with the crisis he was in, in that latter part of that fight, and when I saw him fight Brinkley, he was way too cautious and tentative, and now this? I just dont think he has the temperament of a fighter.

Another Pascal. Record based off poor refereeing and judges, padded record.

he's definatly not an elite fighter in the same regard as pac man, floyd, or even marquez, hopkins but he may be good enough to beat the other 168 guys. i thinbk ward might out work him though but a froch bute fight would be great.

Ward and Dirrell beat him imo. Froch, Kessler and Abraham are 50/50 fights.

Dirrell would walk himself onto something. He’s fast and aggressive, but sloppy and lacking intelligence when he fights. Plus he’s negative when a guy can fight rough, opting to hold or run when under pressure. Bute’s power and aggressive body attack is going to put Dirrell on the defensive, plus he has better movement and shorter punches than Froch. It all equals a bad night for Dirrell.

Ward will pose plenty of problems if he sticks behind the jab, but his bum-rushing to the inside won’t work with Bute. I can’t see Bute waiting around – he was happy firing the uppercut to the body when Magee came in close. And we know Ward can be hurt. Green, on the sole occasion he committed to firing his left hook, stunned Ward, but just didn’t follow it up.

Let’s not overrate Ward anymore than some do Bute. His best win is over Kessler, his next best is Bika and after than is Miranda. And Bute’s beaten two of them in more impressive fashion. He’ll get a chance against Kessler next. Then we can make comparisons.

Apart from the stoppage when Froch knocked him TFO and Magee didn't get up for 10 minutes :yep
