In the most recent The Ring magazine, they did a really great analysis of how Pacman would stack up against the very best 130 pounders of all-time. As a huge Pac fan, i thought it was interesting but it seemed the general consensus was Pacman's constant attacking style would play right into the hands of the slicker atgs. I'm interested what the classic experts here think of Ring's predictions?

    Pac vs.

    1-Kid Chocolate 136-19-6 (51) > Chocolate by close decision
    2-Henry Armstrong 151-21-9 (101) > In a war, Armstrong by late ko
3-Willie Pep :admin 230-11-1 (65) > Pep by comfortable decision
    4-Sandy Saddler 144-16-2 (103) > Saddler by mid-round stoppage
    5-Flash Elorde 86-27-2 (33) > Pacman by comfortable decision
    6-Vicente Saldivar 38-3 (27) > Pacman by ko in 10
    7-Ruben Oliveras 88-13-3 (78 > Pacman, late, on cuts
    8-Bobby Chacon 59-7-1 (47) > Pacman by TKO after 10
    9-Salvador Sanchez 44-1-1 (32) > Sanchez on cuts
10-Azuman Nelson 39-5-2 (27 > Nelson comfortable decision or late stoppage

Yeah. I got it today. Its the September issue Pages 72-79. Why does Ring date it so far ahead though? :think

    Where is Arguello?

I see Arguello taking him out, but not before being troubled (perhaps dropped) early. Arguello's class and straight punching do it eventually, though.

I wondered the same thing. It looks like they leave out the more contemporary 130 pounders. It seems to be organized chronologically by their featherweight reigns. First was Kid Chocolate (1932-1934) and the last was Nelson (1984-1988) Since Arguello was in the early 80's i guess that's not how they came up with the list. Strange they left him off.

Mayweather is the greatest 130 lbs fighter ever, and he would school Pacman in that weight class.

Mayweather Vs Pacquiao would not be pretty for the Filipino community.

As Steward says, "Pacquiao doesn't actually box, he just moves around the ring."

And we all know Pacquiao only has one good punch to defend against.

He'd be outboxed and stopped late.

I think the Ring predictions are alright.

Surprised he got picked over Saldivar and Olivares, I don't see that at all.

    Arguello's great chin>Pac's power.

I don't see him getting dropped and I see Arguello demolishing him.

Mayweather could hit decent at 130 and 135, he'd stop Pacquaio after a one sided boxing display. But a guy like Arguello is the type that I'd pick to beat Floyd comfortable, which is why I see him having no trouble with Pac.

Pacman would be easily beat by Olivares.
    Arguello would destroy him too.
