I don't think it's even particularly close between Hearns and Floyd. Hearns is a nightmare stylistically for him.

    :good

I can't even believe this is up for debate, Floyd would make him look stupid at any point in their careers.

It is widely regarded Floyd did his best stuff at the lower weights so if Floyd fought Marquez earlier in his career, it would be even more of a beating.

I'd go with Mayweather, the wins over Castillo,DLH,Corrales,Hernandez,Mosely and co are just phenomenal.. It's not just the names it's the way he beats them, I love Marquez I really do but he's lost a few fights to people who are not even elite level fighters and it's quite simple, mayweather Is up to now unbeatable... Well theres my 10 pence worth guys ;)

He was best Lightweight in the world at the time so I would say yeah and he had some good wins up until the 1st Mayweather fight.

No he wasn't but Mayweather has far greater names on his resume than Marquez has and also holds a dominating win over him too, he done to Marquez what no other fighter on the planet has ever been able to do to him and that's just completely dominate him and virtually play with him, people talk about weights but let's also not forget Flyod also started out at 9st too ;)

    And Mayweather has?

They've both got lots of B+ opponents on their slate.

Plus Marquez is fighting his #1 contenders in the division, rather than twatting security guards and stuttering like an old biddy when Pacquiao's name is mentioned.

He's a pretender, has been since he beat Gatti.

I'm not sure about that.... far bigger names but I'm not convinced about the substance of that.

    Old DLH
    Old Mosley
    Shot Gatti
    Sliding Hatton

    etc etc

Is that much better than prime Katsidis, prime Diaz, prime Pacquiao x 2 (yes I know ;)) and such.

Does it matter where they started out? Surely it's how big they are on the night that's important. I think the fight between them is fairly irrelevant tbh.

Prime Corrales is better than any of them names..
    Prime Castillo
    Prime Hatton (unbeaten at time)
    Prime Hernandez
Mosely was coming in off a huge win.

I do understand some of your points Beeston, I'm never gonna change your opinion and mine will never change, we can both make valid points although one cannot suggest Marquez is greater than Mayweather surely ;)

The B level fighters he beat were better, and there are more of them, and the wins were more dominant than Marquez wins.

Katsidis & Diaz may be in there primes but there not anywhere near the class level of even faded versions of various fighters Mayweather has beat.

Mosley, Hatton, De La Hoya, Judah, Gatti, Castillo, Coralles, Hernandez all better wins than Katsidis and Diaz wins.

No agree with you but the everybody went on about the size issue after it... I feel if Mayweather was humble he'd be loved, people should look past his attitude and just rate him purely on his skills and achivements alone, when it comes to that, very few come ven close to him IMO...
