True, I remember Vitali saying that. He was pretty upset.

I think Vitali was on the verge of winning, but history will always say Lennox TKO6 Vitali

Lewis was exhausted and was on his way to being knocked out. This has been said by at least one expert who was at the fight.

Vitali, on the other hand, was still fresh, although he had trouble seeing out of his eye. The uppercuts had no lingering effects on him and he was back in control of the fight, clearly, at the end of the 6th round.

Lewis was going out, the only question was how much longer he would last in the fight. I think either the 7th or the 8th would have been Lewis' final round.

lewis won it fair, its not the first time he's losing on point but end up winning the fight

Just watched his fight against Bruno, although its Bruno's own mistake by letting his arm down. ...and Vitali get cuts not from headbutt but from a fckin punch!

I actually thought Lewis had command of the fight, especially given his domination of the 6th round. And personally I'm not buying this too tired to continue argument because it never once happened in his career and they both looked equally tired to me. But it was Vitali who was taken some serious punishment at that point.

    This post is beyond pathetic..

I don't mind someone making a case for Vitali perhaps winning the fight, but a little bit of reality would be appreciated.

    Exhausted?

Well it seems to me they both were.

On the way to being knocked out..is pure hero worshipping and ignores the entire 6th round, which Lewis won on all 3 scorecards.

Where to begin with this post. Well at least one expert settles the whole debate then don't they:huh
Not once in Lewis' career did he ever lose through tiredness. Not once did he ever get worn down. Also who are you to say the uppercuts had no lingering effects on Vitali, and that he would of been back in control of the fight. Something he had lost for the last two rounds.
One thing i always think is that this probably would'nt be debated has much if it was'nt for Vitali's classless reactions at the end.

Credibility gone. You're done. Thanks for trying, though.

Tip for the future: Don't attempt to argue with me if you don't have your facts in order.

No, they weren't. Lewis was. I think his nose may have been broken and he was not in top shape for the fight. He was exhausted, done.

Vitali has never seriously tired in any of his fights. That's one of the benefits of coming in shape time after time. Even at an advanced age, Vitali is capable of throwing 70+ punches per round and keep going.

Vitali was having some issues with the eye, which is why he was getting hit with the uppercuts. But he had begun to adjust to that move by Lewis, and Lewis simply wasn't throwing enough to continue enjoying success. Additionally, he was exhausted. As I said, he was reduced to pot-shotting as the fight went along because he didn't want to get countered and his energy was dwindling rapidly.

Lewis got manhandled in the fight. Owned. He won the only way he could have won. Then he walked away from the sport, early. He knew the reality, and wanted no part of a Vitali rematch.

I prefer to see the fight as a whole, and Vitali was on fire that night.
Being a fan of neither at the time, it was easy to see clearly, and not think of anyones history.
But I know what the result was :deal

No. You don't know and I'm not telling you. You've exposed yourself, and that is more than enough for me. Any serious poster familiar with Lewis' history will know what I'm talking about. And they will also know you don't know what you're talking about. Good, one less person for me to take seriously and try to argue with.

What, that's your answer. Being all mystical because you can't give me an answer. I think your statement "try to argue with" sums your mentality up perfectly, and shows that you really are just a childish fanboy who knows f*cking nish about the sport of boxing. Jog on!
