....what was/is your opinion on it? Many people thought he'd win by pot-shotting and running around, but he was the aggressor for most of the fight, and barely backed up the entire fight, even when he got tagged...in fact, he was backing Mosley up most of the time, and even straight punked Mosley in...I think it was round 8, when they were jawing at each other, and PBF popped him in the mouth... ...what was the reason for this? Is it because he knew Shane was old and couldn't do anything? Is it because the beast was brought out in him? Is it because he had that killer side all along? Share your thoughts...
THe reason was because he WANTED to do that. THe dragon stuff is nice and cute, but Floyd rarely gave up any ground after the opening bell rang. He made it clear that he wanted to KO Shane before the fight. SHane is the type of fighter who needs a decent amount of space to get his shots off. Floyd knew it would help him by invading Shane's space. I heard stories of how Floyd walks down bigger fighters in sparring, but that's for another time. You can see him being somewhat aggressive in that limited TMZ sparring clip.
my opinion pre-fight was that Mosley telegraphs his shots, and that Floyd would have no problem seeing them coming. I also felt that Floyd would have no problem teeing off on Mosley.
Mosley was dead tired by the 4th rd. If he wasn't, I don't think PBF would have done that. You know that he likes to sleep walk through fights. He saw, that being on the outside had more danger than did the outside, and that's why he was there. Gotta give him props for going half way. He didn't have the nuts to go to the body, and really take the heart of Mosley though.
If we take your word for that, Floyd shouldn't have done what he did to MOsley in the 3rd. ROund 3 was one of the most aggressive rounds of the fight.
Terrible Analysis. You're saying that Floyd saw that Mosley was tired in the 4th, but he started walking him down as early as the 2nd round.
I was just shocked...it was like he was bullying SM at times. I can understand him being aggressive against N'Dou and Gatti, but I was very surprised he kept bringing it to Mosley, even after being hurt in round 2...
At this stage in his career, what more did you want Shane to do that shot fighters like Gatti or even (lol) N'Dou could do.
he was doing that from all the strength he's been getting from training with steroids, plus it was a goldenboy rig to make lil floyd look even more dope than he already is
It was entertaining to see Mayweather on the front foot again. I actually did a thread about how Mayweather may do what he actually says before a bout, and try being aggressive and going for the stoppage against Mosley...but it seems to have been deleted. The sharpness in his punches from round 3 onwards was also great to watch. Near enough every shot landed clean, whilst at the same time knocking Mosley's head back.
