That is why we have message boards. But the fact Lennox won the fight means something. Vitali is the one who was cut up. Someone was hitting him. Lennox was starting to throw his right bolo punch at the end of the fight. That means he knew the time was right to stop Vitali. Another tall guy who threw that right bolo that way is Tim Witherspoon.

well sure, it means something that Byrd TKO Vitali, that Douglas KO Tyson, Ali TKO Frazier in their rubber match, that Tunney defeated Dempsey in their rematch... but there's more to those stories, right?
The stoppage wasn't up to Lewis, it was up to the doctors.
Vitali was hitting Lennox too, probably why this topic exists.

If the threadstarter thinks Vitali would've won if the fight went on... he's not alone. Many think the opposite too, obviously.

There is no doubt in my mind that Frazier would've KO'd Ali if Eddie Futch's stupid ass didn't interfere at the Thrilla in Manilla annd Hearns would've beaten SRL by decision if he didn't get caught.

    Seriously, get over it.

maybe so but I have watched a lot of boxing matches as all of you have, and Lennox was coming on and throwing his bolo right, which is his closing punch. I think he knew he had him. I was sure Vitali was going to be stopped, and then the fight is over on the cut. And yeah the stoppage is up to Lennox a little. He could have pored it on after seeing the cut to make sure he stopped Vitali. Lennox should go down greater than Vitali.

That rematch should have been Tommy's. Had Tommy just boxed in round 12 and not gone for the knockout, although giving Ray a 2 point round in round 12 without knockdown was ridiculous which a judge did. Tommy won the beginning of the round and was throwing punches to the end. Even landing a few nice bodypunches after Ray did his foul, which he should have been deducted a point for. Tommy fighting a smart fight beats Ray everytime. But Tommy loved the knockout. A true warrior.

Why is it only Klit fans cannot comprehend that an aging ATG has a right to retire when they choose, regardless of whichever fresh fighters may beat them. Lewis could have beaten Vitali in a convincing fashion and his critics would always find someone new for him to fight to 'prove' himself. Lewis was only lucky in the sense that he under-estimated Vitali and did not prepare for him as he should have, and probably could not have considering the short notice.

Lewis was always different class to either Klit. The sooner Klit fans get past this whole '2 fighters for the price of one' deal the better. Vitali has an ATG chin but doesn't have the skills to beat an ATG (as shown) and Wlad maybe has ATG skills but unfortunately possesses a china chin and the mental strength to go with it. Together they make a great boxer, but neither of them have dominated the weakest HW era in modern boxing history, and yes, it's only Klit fans that even dream of this being anything better than the worst HW era. If the current HWs were any good, the likes of Haye and Adamek would have stayed at CW where they belong. Those two, and even Mormeck jumping up a division is evidence enough that the HW division is in a **** state.

Lewis was on his way out if that fight had continued and he knew it. That is exactly why he took his proverbial ball and ran home and somehow gets praised for it.

Too this very day Lewis and his cadre of ass kissers, constantly rewrite the history of what had really occurred that night. It is they who will not let it go...

That's what scorecards reflect, you know, the skills.
