I'd favor Martinez by decision. Tito could be troubled by mobility and an educated jab, and Martinez brings both to the table. Stand in front of Tito at your own peril, but give him angles and you'll be in there for awhile, maybe long enough to see a decision in your favour. This could all change with one left hook, but Martinez has more ways to win.
If Serg takes his patented mid fight break, Tito aint letting him get away with it. But certainly Martinez is a hard fight stylistically for Tito...If he does win he is coming from behind to do it.
Martinez UD or KO. Tito was one demensional and Martinez has showed that he has no problem with stiff 1-2 fighters. His angles and range controll would baffle the 1-2 stalking trinadad. Trinadad would be walking into bombs like pavlik or dzinzurik. Martinez is at a different level of being strategic also and can beat you many different ways. Poor style match up for Tito and he would be whipped. Trinadad would land some but martinez would ware him down and eventually KO him. All you have to do is look at ODH and BHOP fights and then look at the way Martinez fights. They are somewhat simular when they faced 1 2 stalkers.
Good point, Rock. :think Sergio went through lulls in all three of his fights with Williams, Pavlik, and Dzinziruk, he can't afford to do that against someone who hits as hard as Trinidad.
tito would knock him out cold, martinez is wayy too open, if he decides to trade like he did with pwilly its lights out sex bomb sergio.
Not really...Hoya and Nard were far more disciplined, text book fighters who executed their game plans perfectly..with Hoya, near perfectly. Martinez has the lateral movement and speed that will give Tito the fits but his very instinctive and awkward style goes both ways...its a **** to figure out but it also leaves gaps to be exploited..its not a one off or a slip up sort of things..its a pattern, just like him dropping off the pace in the midrounds..it has happened in just about every fight Ive seen of his, from Margarito to Dzin. Generally only fleeting moments but you only need to give Tito a sniff..he was much better at taking these openings than the meandering Molasses brothers or a clammed up Dzin. I think another thing that needs to be taken into account is that Tito is a dirty SOB..his "body attack" of hip shots and testicle ticklers, might well throw Sergio right off his game. Its a very hard fight for Tito...but one I would expect him to win more often than not. Martinez' career is still ongoing however...and him beating the great Peter Manfredo might go a long way towards me changing my mind.:yep
First off yes Tito is a legend BUT Sergio has all the tools to give him hell. Stylistically Martinez could outbox Sergio for 10 or 9 rounds. He would only be in danger when he takes his mid round brakes and even then he has shown a great chin. I have never seen him hurt even when he has absorbed big shots. A puncher always has a shot but thats all Tito has really. Slick fighters were his kryptonite.
