The greats that came through at the same time as him and were the same age or there about.

So that leaves us with the 4 top dogs from that era. Tyson, Bowe, Holyfield and Lewis, so where do you rank them and why?

    Here's mine.

    1. Lewis

This is a easy one really, Gold medal winning olympian, head to head against the 3 other greats of his age group gives him a great record of 3 fights, 2 wins and a draw.

    2. Holyfield

Went for the best, ducked nobody. an amazing 7 fights against the other greats in this era resulting in 3 victories, 2 of which saw him crush and break Mike tyson's heart. along with 3 losses and a draw.

    3.Bowe

Only ever one defeat to the ATG Holyfield which he avenged twice!

    4. Tyson

Propping up these beasts of men is Tyson, good boxer but his 3 fights and 3 defeats against the best of his era puts him bottom of this pile.

As you can see this is a great list, what is your choice?

Tyson's era was the late 80s, he fought Holyfield in the late 90s and fought Lewis nearly 20 yrs after he turned pro, sorry but they were not part of his era, I would say these guys were really in different eras, as for Bowe, he is far below all 3 as he flamed out very fast.

Why do people always act like lewis beat a very good tyson, the man was shot, thats like giving probs to david diaz for beating morales. I do agree with himbeing the best of the 4 by the way, I just dont get why people give him much credit for the tyson win.

    1. Holyfield (ranks higher as a heavyweight IMO and certainly much higher as an overall ATG when considering what he did at cruiserweight)

    2. Lewis

    3. Tyson

And Bowe can get the **** outta here. Although I will say that his win over a prime Holyfield is probably better than any one win that Lewis or Tyson ever had.

It doesn't matter, none of them were on the scene during the late 80s, different eras.

    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Tyson

    Bowe

You can't rank Bowe over Tyson, he had only one quality win at heavyweight and the rest of his reign was pitiful. Who was the next best heavyweight he fought and beat, Golota (got his arse handed to him) or Hide.

Holyfield was the best ever cruider, at HW he rarely dominated elite opponents like Lewis did. Plus he really lost twice to Lewis, is 1:1 against Moorer, 1:1:1 against Ruiz, 1:2 against Bowe. Only against Tyson does he have a winning record over multiple fights. Lewis is far better, H2H and in resume.

35yo Tyson is not the same as 35yo Lewis. A lot to do with genetics/styles/mentality I think, it's not totally fair to put it the way you did.

That's one more great win than Tyson has.
