Anyone with Dirrells deficiencies will never be the top dog.

Earl-hickey seems to be setting himself up to become one of the worst posters on here. A little while ago you claimed Degale was elite! You might think he’s talented, but he’s done nothing at all to show he’s an elite fighter.

For anyone to suggest that he could even be competitive with Bute, Kessler or Dirrell is hilarious. As others have stated: he’s beaten Paul Smith, who had looked terrible against crap opponents well before their match.

That doesn’t give him the skills or experience to beat guys with much better skills like the three mentioned. He’d get his ass kicked by anyone in the top ten at the moment.

He needs to take care of business against proven, experience Euro and world-level campaigners. He’s got Groves, and then he should look to meet someone like Magee.

He’s another ten fights off of winning a real title and he’s nowhere near the talent of Dirrell or Ward. And I don’t even like Dirrell!

He said he thinks DeGale is a superstar and beats everyone bar Ward(which would be a close fight in his opinion) but the said "cover your bet with a groves ko" Does he actually get paid for making these videos? If so i think 99% of the Brit Forum could get a job with his employers.

100% agreed. Dirrell is immensely gifted physically, but very flawed stylistically and emotionally. He’s just not got it in him to box a good, aggressive fight or stand his ground.

I just can’t believe how overrated Degale is. He’s done absolutely ****-all beyond British-level. End of!

Earl, your overrating De Gale massively.

De Gale's defense leaks punches when combination's are put on him, he lacks a transition from defense to offense when he goes into his shell, and is prone to getting out-hustled cause of this imo.

De Gale doesn't have an effective jab, he uses the jab to paw with so he can invite you in a counter you with an uppercut, or a straight left, but he doesn't know how to use it as an offensive weapon, to snap it out there and apply pressure from behind it, to keep you on your heels dictating range from behind it.

De Gale is actually not as effective as a counter puncher, as he is as an aggressor, only I question whether his aggressive style will work as effective against someone who knows how to use their legs to offset him, and can get around the ring without getting trapped the way Smith constantly was, someone who also has the speed to get off first on him whilst he's waiting, that is when De Gale's lack of an offensive jab will be an issue imo, sometimes you cant exclusively play counter puncher, and work your offense off the leads of the opponent, there are times when you need that offensive jab to create your own openings.

It would be more difficult to come foward, then hang back pawing with the jab trying to draw them into counter shots if they're able to get off first on you whilst your waiting, and can reset you with the movement before they shoot in with their attacks.

    Maybe he's employed by bookies!

What I don't get is he almost always says to straddle, but when you straddle it makes it almost impossible to win money. It's like backing every horse in a race, you'll only win if the huge underdog wins the race. How often does that happen?

What's that got to do with anything? DeGale may be green but from what I've seen of them both I'd put my cash on DeGale all day, easy money, the boys special, cocky ***** but he's got skills.

I think he's a great talent aswell. But I'd be a fool to go putting all my money on a prospect who's done **** all against a proven world champion who's beaten Abraham and Froch.

Let's give him time, people on here are two quick to label boxers next P4P stars and, equally, on the other end of the spectrum, calling them hype jobs, no marks etc.
