Bute made short work of Zuniga. In his next important fight Zuniga went the distance with Tavoris Cloud at 175, and made it an interesting fight.

I'll give ya Miranda. He hasn't been the same since the Pavlik fight.

Brinkley was a huge underdog against Stevens, and beat the crap out of Stevens. He deserved a title fight.

Magee made it 11 rounds with Froch, but only lasted 10 rounds with Bute.

Bute's competition has been a lot better than the elitist boxing snobs on ESB try to pretend it has.

 

and magee got a lot better too, you can't say "oh but froch has improved since then" and forget the fact that magee has too. you need to understand the set backs in magees career, it got held up a LOT.

 

Dont get taken in by that result too much. There is a fighter that Magee stopped (A Thysse) that went the distance with other fighters like Beyer, Bute, Diaconu, Bika, Braehmer and went longer with Kessler. I doubt Magee can hit harder than any of those fighters except maybe Beyer, Diaconu and Bika and even then I wouldnt be too sure and would guess not

 

Magee went 11 rounds with Froch 5 years ago. 5 years. If you think the same Magee fought Bute on saturday night, then you are simply ******ed. Why you would even bring that up puzzles me. What a ****ing dumb gesture.

Bute is not on the level of an Andre Ward he will be exposed by Ward. Froch is nothing but a British hype job who was completely outboxed by Andre Dirrell.

 

Thats why Boxing News and The Ring mag saw Froch as the winner over Dirrell. Froch outlanded Dirrell

 

There is no way in hell Froch landed more punches than Dirrell. The British hype their fighters on a whole other level than Americans, that was a blatant daylight robbery in Nottingham, with a point deduction and allowed rabbit punching.

Pretty sure the BBC and Sky Sports scored the fight for Dirrell.

Dirrell fought like a scared little homo. Bouncing up and down the floor awhile clinging to Froch's nuts like a raging ******. This was Froch's fight. Dirrell was just to negative.

Let me remind some of your statements:
1) "I have serious doubts that he can compete with the best SMWs"
2) "He looked awful against Magee"
3) "Magee, who is a non-entity at 168"
4) "Bute should have had Magee out of there in three rounds"
5) "Bute is supposed to be the best SMW out there" (says who?)

Now these are some bold statements that even some of Bute's haters avoided to use. Not only that, but these statements aren't backed up properly. You may have a point but you should expand your ideas, not just write 2 sentences about it.
First you should try to explain why all the others top SMW are that good and Bute is bad (you're not even saying he's not that good, you're saying he "looks awful"). For example you say Ward beats Bute but you're not really comparing them. You're just making a statement. I'm not saying Ward doesn't beat Bute, that's not what I want to emphasize.
Please be sincere about this: how many of Magee's fight have you watched before creating this thread? I admit I have watched only Froch vs. Magee before Bute vs. Magee was announced. By now I have seen 7. I can only agree with you saying he's a bum only if you've seen at least 2 of his fights (not with Bute).
