Katsidis, Guererro Quick Quotes

On today’s conference call featuring Michael Katsidis, Robert Guererro and James Kirkland, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer announced that due to Juan Manuel Marquez status being up in the air, April 9th’s bout between Katsidis and Guerrero may be an interim bout for both the WBO and WBA lightweight titles that Marquez holds.

Katsidis: (On taking on another top level fighter after losing to Marquez)

You’re going to see a whole different Robert Guerrero. I’m pleased with how training camp is going and everything is falling into place. My thing is to be 100% focused and doing what I have to do to prepare for the fight. I can’t wait to come out and put on a show and showcase a whole new Robert Guerrero.”

Kirkland: “I have a desire for boxing that is unbelievable to the point that I know that I’m going to make it because I now have positive people around me. I know I’ll be world champion. It’s just my drive and desire to fight that will get me there. I’m a true champion because I’ve overcome jail and I know what it takes to win and be a champion. When my time comes I will be world champion

Every once an awhile, I will pick, usually by complete random using a number system, 5 of our members who I will ask a question to concerning boxing. If the same member keeps popping up, I will use who comes next so everyone gets selected over time. Of course, nobody has to participate, its just for fun.

For the first one however, I personally chose which members to ask, for various reasons. Some keep the thread filled with activity and life, and others help me out.

I think when choosing who to ask the next question to, I will be choosing the top person in each division actually.... if its someone who was just in the last one, then I will go to the next person down. I dont know, I just want a random way to choose them. But Ill probably do them every two weeks or so :good
