Solis vs Arreola

WTF Arreola never hurt Adamek with anything. What fight were you watching? Let me guess was it the round when Adamek was slipping and sliding all over the ring? Oh I guess the sole of his shoe coming apart had nothing to do with it. Apart from that round, it was Adamek who totally controlled the fight, initiated and won the vast majority of exchanges. Judging by his face, it was Adamek who made Arreola his rag doll in that fight.

 

Arreola breaks his hand on the top of Solis' head. Solis crumbles, blowing out his knees. Both fighters out of action for the rest of the year.

 

It would be a good fight. I'd look forward to an Arreola vs. Boystov even more. i think I'll start my own post about that.

I know his reputation is mud at the moment but he has superior hand-speed and uses angles in a way which I think would confuse Arreola all night.

Solis is an intelligent boxer and I think his skills are markedly superior to Chris'.

 

Agreed, but Arreola still retains the bigger punch and will use that often versus a relatively slow footed Solis. I don't think it will be a huge problem for Arreola to find Solis' face. Arreola would need to be weary of Solis' counter though. Arreola may also have the better chin and in this fight, both chins would be tested.

 

Arreola was the first to say in his post fight interview that Adamek "Beat my ass" However I know what the poster meant. Anytime Arreola did connect it seemed like he sent Adamek "flying". Adamek also said it was the toughest fight of his career :good

 

Solis certainly isn't fleet-footed but I think he has some nice, subtle movements and use of distance that give him a clear advantage in defence. I think Arreola comes in too straight and moves out straight backwards too. Sometimes he follows his opponent around the ring rather than cutting it off and, when you're dealing with someone like that, clever movement can do as much for you as great foot-speed.

Arreola definitely seems to pack a harder punch though and I'm sure he'd still manage to land some telling shots. After the Vitali "fight" it's hard to know what to make of Solis' punch-resistance, whether it was a freak occurance or he genuinely can't take a shot. That's the x-factor in this one for me.
