Yeah it's fantastic sparring. Won't find many who fight like DeGale but it's good for Groves.

    It's no big deal...

I just think you're wrong to say historians especially would just look at an official result. Thats not what being a historian is about.

Plus, most people that are going to check out a result 20 years ago have some kind of prior interest otherwise why would they be doing it? So in that respect they're unlikely to look at the result and then call it a night. In the future getting hold of these fights is going to so easy, they'll read internet reports, forum history might be about, its not going to be that cut and dry. Do 'casual' fans even look at boxrec for something in history?

'Historians' was a bad term for me to use. Casual 'so called' historians probably would have been better.

my argument is mostly based on idiots in the general forum looking at results in order to gauge the quality of a fighter or make an assesment on a fight. Obviously, the general forum is a joke, so that was a pretty ignorant point to make. I just think that the use of looking at records is so much 'the norm' in that forum, that is would appear to an outsider to be common practice. I think I'm reading too much into though.

I hold my hands up, though. I've made some statements ignorant of the bigger picture. I'd like to think that some of what I have been saying is evident though, but only in certain places (the general forum ). However, I ascertain that the first picture Jpab19 posted was a shovel, and not a spade :bart

This funfan guy is pissing me off now.

There will be some jackass who will claim Dirrell won the seventh on "ring generalship" when the only guy fighting, landing or even interested was Froch.

Seriously, how anyone can say Dirrell was robbed is beyond me.

Groves sending a message out to Degale by the looks of it. Groves isn't going to be an easy nights work, Degale will really have to push the boundaries and hit top gear to beat Groves (in my opinion). Groves is absolutely no walkover.

I agree, I read about most of the legendary fights long before I got to see them, and had quite detailed mental pictures built up of how they went.
