***FROCH vs JOHNSON REJECTED BY SKY*** Froch responds to fans

At the end of the day its just economics lads. I highly doubt sky have some kind of grudge against showing Froch. It'll be a simple case of what they believe the viewing figures would be against how much it would cost to secure the fight. They obviously don't believe it greatly adds up or that there are 'better' ways to spend their budget. That simple.

 

thats bull**** even Haye's deal for PPV is fight by fight mate. sky box office are the only game in town.

I doubt Sky really give a toss about significance at this stage.

Froch/Johnson being on in the U.S in the middle of 3 other PPV's makes no sense.

If we're talking what it would bring to the table, it's blaitently obvious Khan/McCloskey would bring more, and I'm not even trying to defend the fight because I'm a fan, it's just common sense.

And once again, is it not Hennesey's fault if anything?

Really? Because I'm pretty sure Khan struggled to get onto Sky after he left FW. Amir had to score another deal with Sky, and the deal wasn't made within the time, so his fight had to be on ITV.

A deal was then later made, but I don't know anything in-depth so I can't really say much on whether it is a fight-by-fight thing or a set amount.

neither fight should be ppv especially khan mc, but if i had to choose one its gotta be the froch fight, this fight has far more implications than khan vs fellow countryman i never heard of:smoke

 

Yep, theres no doubting this fight WOULD be on Sky if he was with a decent promoter. You can not imagine any way this wouldn't be on Sky if Frank promoted him. Froch's profile is pretty ****, they probably have to pay Showtime quite well to take this fight. It's not that difficult to see why it ain't happening, but you would hope Sky would show a bit of pride in one of Britain's best fighters but it ain't to be. They're corporate ****s, £££ is everything.

 

Khan's PPV history is shite (allegedly) and McCloskey is unknown.

Clev/Braehmer and Khan/McCloskey are not PPV worthy. I doubt Primetime had to fork much out for Froch, they just probably did a deal based on sales. Why can't Sky do the same? Even Froch has said that the bulk of his purse comes from Showtime anyway.

And can't Sky find a way to put this on regular Sky? :think


And you can guarantee Froch/Johnson will be much more fan friendly than Khan/McCloskey.

Froch is not a star guys. Froch-Johnson by itself would bomb on PPV.

To those who are saying it doesn't make sense with the other 3 PPVs/the fight isn't PPV by itself: Don't think it was ever planned as a separate PPV, I heard they were planning on packaging it with the DeGale/Cleverly PPV.

 

Khan/McCloskey will surely be Amir's highest PPV figure's to date..

I personally think it's fairly pointless on debating whether it should be a PPV or not and comparing it to other's, because none of that is going to change at this point, and Sky aren't going to do 4-5 PPV's in the span of four months.

That's what I'm saying. It should most definitely be on regular Sky. Nothing more, nothing less, for now..
