If this is PPV anyway I could not care less if it is shown by SkySports or Primetime.

This reminds me of those idiots on facebook who join a group "Join this group and show your outrage for England shirts being banned in all pubs during world cup".. and countless idiots join adding comments how its outrageous and how police are *******s... yet they don't even know the true story before posting such ****.

    Wake up dickheads

They should have had Froch-Johnson on after Clev-Brah/degale-groves - this would be ppv worthy. But, despite Smith's rhetoric of getting promoters to work together he has shown that he hasnt got the stomach for it.

Failing that then a combo offer for the purchase of all th ppvs should have been offered.

    PS. **** Sky

It's not about investment, or anything in particular to do with Froch. The reasons against possibly not showing it on PPV are straightforward, there is a May 21st PPV already sealed in, and a June 25th/July 2nd PPV. The latter of which is going to require huge amounts of PR time.

The issues involved are more to do with them coming late to the table, and an already busy schedule.

For clarification, these are just issues, they don't mean anything about the actual outcome.

Makes me laugh when you see nobheads like Big Dunk claiming Smith is doing a **** job, if he had an ounce of understanding of what is actually involved he'd be grateful there is as much boxing on Sky as there is.

There is no story. Just an ongoing situation of discussion. Maybe it won't be on SKY, maybe it will be PPV, maybe it won't. It's not at the stage where that can be declared. People should wait until these things are completed and there are actual facts before creating **** like this that stirs up nonsense

The Froch fight should be free live on sky and repeated the next day at a decent time.Get him on ringside before and after the fight then he will be better known especially if he wins another war. Then the final against Ward can be a ppv and Froch might finally become the star he deserves to be.

This wont happen because sky are shortsighted and wont spend the money on the gamble that froch wins and looks impressive enough to build him up for the final

TBH as much as deserving of recognition froch is, this fight wont sell outside the likes of us on PPV. they probably figure they cant risk the overkill as someone said earlier there is a lot of potential PPVs on soon.

i wonder how much froch makes from primetime compared to how much sky would pay for this as a big time saturday night sky sports show?

Sky offered Khan x amount for the Malignaggi fight on Box Office. He rejected, saying it wasn't enough and if x was all he was going to make from that fight in the UK then he might as well fight on ITV1 for nothing for 'the exposure'

That's according to the bloke on DS who works for ITV-and he is usually spot on with these things so I have no reason to doubt that.

He also said Khan didn't want to go to Sky in the first place, and would much rather fight the scrubs he was at that time (***an, Prescott etc.) on prime time ITV1 for less money. But we all know how Fwanky jizzes at the mere thought of a PPV. After he left Warren he wasn't tied down to being on Sky, so could explore those other options.

why is everyone debating a dead issue

khan will sell they know this , froch will not they think this and i gotta agree (hes got no profile )

the problem dosent lie with adam smith in 2001 it lies with khan in the 2004 olympics and the resulting high profile and good promoter .also with froch lacking both of these

id much rather see carl froch than khan/mclosky but it dosent make sense to put carl on ppv at this stage

I've read this comment a few times: "It won't make money", Primetime will show it, Primetime will make a tidy little sum off of it, so why can't SKY?

It'd be arguable whether Primetime made any money from these Froch fights, they certainly wouldn't have made much.

There is a lot more to consider than whether it will take more than it costs: Cannibalisation of other PPV's, usage of their resources/promotion slots, negative feeling from having too many PPV's on Sky etc.

They should just turf Khan, throw him off the heap. I honestly don't think anyone really is bothered about him. Froch is far more charismatic and will be in scraps for several more years with top super middles, while Khan will be fighting relative toss in the form of Bradley and Alexander.

Memo to Sky: Tell Khan to take a hike!

Pull your finger out Adam, instead of going on nice trips to America etc.
