So you completely ignored the question.

You haven't said anything of merit - all you've done is try to say you know more than anyone else - therefore you're right. Well done.

Regardless of whether or not you think it was a check hook or not, you lose all credibility if you genuinely see the punch Floyd threw in his gif to the one Wlad threw. I can't believe yoi're arguing that point - you even tried arguing that Floyd's feet were planted until I pointed out that they weren't - at which point you changed your argumet again.

Your argument has actually gone from:

    Wlad's is a check hook - (i say it's not)

as evidence you post gif of Floyd to show how Floyds feet were also planted, jst like Wlads ( i point out that they're not)

    now you're arguing that Floyd's feet were moving so it's not a textbook hook . . .

At least have a consistent opinion, not one that changes in relation to things that people point out to you.

Exactly - every hook thrown while avoiding a punch is a check hook.

So all left hook counters are check hooks? If so Frazier is the master at it. I think Wlad isn't really doing that, he's just beating Peter to the punch. I'm not sure on all the technicalities of a check hook; I admit I could be wrong. But I do think landing a hook that beats the other fighters punch, and then jumping out of the way with both feet gives too broad a meaning to the term. But I could be wrong.

Nothing, there's no consequence. It was just a disagreement between WiddowMaker, so I thought I'd get the forum's consensus. But apparently WM knows more than the whole forum, so the poll is irrelevant and WM is right either way

The best I can tell after years of this bullsh*t is that it is a counter left hook, thrown and landed while on the back foot, that must force your opponent to run into a turnbuckle, and must have been thrown by Floyd Mayweather.

Because he is the only fighter ever amazing enough to have done it.

One day these guys will realize that the punch stands on its own as a gorgeous shot, with or without them pretending it's the fistic equivalent of Haley's comet.
