Both broke the record for oldest heavyweight champion, who would win in this matchup? You can vote on both young & old Foreman here.
Old Foreman was slow, but more so skilled and just too big for Joe Wally...... But, Wally would outbox the young, green Foreman who could punch, yet telegraphed his power by way of second class mail.... An interesting match in which both dude's win under special circumstances... MR.BILL
If I was a betting man, I would pick Walcott. He surprised me with his durability in the first Rocky fight, which leads me to believe he was a hard ******* to put down whenever he came in fully confident. His feints, shifts, clever footwork, counterpunching, and crazy angles would confuse Foreman to no end and not allow him to get set and deliver his offense fully. I pick Walcott and am very confident with that.
Young George has problems catching up with Joe,but he'd do it before the seventh or eighth round. Walcott shuts the older version out over the distance.
My fear for Joe is that Foreman was just too big and strong for him..but he'd give George some nasty surprises and some schooloing along the way. JJW was a beautiful, oh so tricky fighter.
He definately beats the old version of Foreman, and he could outbox the younger version but I feel the younger Foreman catches up to him and Walcotts chin isn't quite good enough to keep him in the fight
Again I think that Walcott would hand a prety one sided beating to the older Foreman, but the younger version might be able to close the deal on him. Both in their prime, it is one of those fights where you would make a pick, but would have no idea what was realy going to unfold.
Walcott is too slick and tricky for foreman. Walcott will be gone by the time foreman throws one of his clubs. Foreman will eventually tire out, and walcott will backpedal and jab his way to a unanimous decision victory. Walcott also had the one punch power to make foreman respect him. Feints, Shifts, tricky footwork, triple jabs, misdirections....all wrong for Foreman.
Walcott did not have Ali's legendary toughness though, and even with Jimmy Young you knew he was going to go for the safe route every time. Walcott didn't mind showing off and exchanging blows every once in a while. He'd have to fight the perfect fight to beat a young Foreman, similar to the fight he had against Louis the first time.
Or Louis the second time. Even past his best, Foreman had nothing like the fluidity and torque that Louis eventually used to take Walcott out.
