    Johnson is pawing with his right jab with no particular sense of urgency as he circles off to his right. Gutierrez, the stockier and stronger looking fighter looks to wind his way in with his forearms crossed in front of him and bending in at odd angles, applying some intelligent pressure and gaining ground without eating too many counters. Johnson is throwing more punches despite getting backed up, but good defense by Gutierrez. A low-slapping body flurry by Gutierrez as he comes in, between blocking counters. Johnson is keeping his distance but also setting the pace, stopping and unrolling his right jab whenever Gutierrez stops pressuring for a second. Good solid 1-2 by Johnson.

    Good first round for Johnson, 10-9, strained analogies aside I agree with Teddy that he looks effortless in there, very smooth.

    They exchange and Gutierrez tries to grab Johnson around the waist and hit him up high with his right hand, but Johnson is too slippery and blasts him in the face with quick hands while wriggling free. Gutierrez is now coming in behind his left jab, and doubles it (sort of...a very slow double). Johnson is using fleet feet to keep Gutierrez chasing him around the perimeter. Gutierrez ducks down and rotates his neck to try and slip the long right jabs of Johnson, who is content to just hang back and try to pick him off from long-range. Gutierrez keeps jabbing his way in, and then stopping in his tracks and going into a defensive shell when Johnson feints a counter. Gutierrez swipes with his jab but can't land.
