Hopkins-Tarver, though I wouldn't say Hopkins was the slower of the two. Pascal as well, but not sure about the height on that one.

Duran-Barkley might be the best call I can think of. By that point Duran had slowed down enough that Barkley looked like the faster of the two.

Barrera was definitely quicker than Morales.... Morales had excellent timing but average speed..... IMO Barrera had excellent hand speed and faster than most Top JF,FW and JL.

I'm amazed that it has taken until page three of this thread for Jim Watt-Howard Davis, Jr. to be mentioned.

Watt was actually described as being slower than most lightweights, while Howard was defined as the fastest man in boxing, over Ray Leonard, Wilfred Benitez, Tommy Hearns, and everybody else competing in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Jim was 5'8", while Howard was 5'10", and used his height to lean away from head shots like Ali. Watt handed Davis his first defeat with a clear cut UD in defense of his WBC LW Title. As far as I'm concerned, Jim's forever the poster boy on how a shorter, slower and older boxer can defeat a taller, faster and younger opponent conclusively on points without needing any knockdowns as an aid.

When he took on Palomino, he was described by SI's Pat Putnam thusly:

"The higher weight slowed Duran not at all. He bewildered Palomino with flicking head and shoulder feints; he battered him with punches thrown at blinding speed."
