Let's give Floyd a pass on this. Maybe it will encourage Pac to fight Stevie Johnston and finally rid himself of his slick black fighter demons

to everyone over reacting about spadafora . . . Mayweather was slated to fight Mathew Hatton for his comback fight . . . its just a publicity stunt to get his name back in the media by pissing off the fans suggesting hes going to fight someone **** or over rated. it gets more attention rather than fighting someone good with no name

Marquez - Beat Pac Twice in some peoples eyes
Mosley- Created Havoc at the Marquez fight
Khan - Pacs sparring partner . . . could he be next i wonder

It doesn't makes sense. Then again you'd think I was out of mind if I told you 3 or 4 yrs ago that Margarito would be able to earn a $6 million purse shortly after coming off his suspension for trying to seriously injure or kill a man. Floyd-Spadafora would be acceptable only IF Floyd promises to face a top P4P guy later this year. It would rank at the bottom of the barrel along with Maidana-Morales, Pac-Mosley, etc. but let's face it....lovers and haters will still watch it.

It's worse than those two fights, who are you trying to kid? Mosley was top 5 p4p not a year ago and still has the power to knock Pac cold. Morales is clearly more shot and that fight is a joke, but atleast Morales has done something with his career that will give fans atleast have some hope he can perform one last miracle. Spadofora was a good hometown fighter, but never a world beater and has been insignificant for almost 10 years. His claim to this fight is a ****ing sparring session from 10 years ago

Peoples hate for Floyd forced them to try a desperate move to get at Floyd. Now we have the possibility of this fight because of that. Thanks Floyd haters.

haha, yeah right. more like floyd saw an opportunity from that to make an easy fight and payday. haters are not responsible for his actions, never have been, never will be.. or else the margarito, cotto and pac fights would've happened. nice try though

Explain to me how Spaddy was never a worldclass boxer? He was a champion and defended his belt=yes Sosa knocked him down but Spaddy got up and boxed his ears off.Yes he had a bad performance against Dorin but I scored it a draw and that clearly wasn;t Spaddy at his best.

Last time he was rumoured to fight Matthew hatton what happened to that rumour it slowly faded away and mayweather fought Mosley the guy PAC is fighting one year later.

Going by mayweather recent resume I would be very surprised to see him take this fight even as a tune up.

was just wondering what you thought to james toney fighting the following opposition after winning the super-mid title. think he was a top 4 p4p at this time wasn't he popkins?

1993 he wins the title from iran barkley a fighter who years earlier was blown away by nigel benn in 1 round and pummelled to a loss by a shot roberto duran barkley went onto lose 11 out of 25 fights following this fight and never beat anyone who was remotely good in doing so,the guy was so desperate he was even plying his trade as a HW in the late 90's against the likes of berbick

    - toney then fought govonor chambers a guy with a career record of 9 wins 7 losses, all 3 fights prior to toney were ko losses!

    - ricky thomas: won 11 lost 14,the 4 fights he had prior to toney all losses!

    - glenn thomas:won 29 lost 8, lost to roy jones prior to toney and finished his career with a first round ko loss to jeff lacy.

    - danny garcia: won 30 lost 22, was coming off losses to chris pyatt (a steve collins victim) lamar parks etc

    - larry prather: won 19 lost 24,lost his last 5 fights prior to the toney fight even losing to nicky piper

    - tony thornton: won 37 lost 7,lost to chris eubank a year earlier.

    - anthony hembrick: won 31 lost 8,lost to maske prior to toney and orlin norris a year earlier.

    - tim littles: won 27 lost 3,maybe one of his better wins, had fought mainly bums with the exception of a close UD over frankie liles, went onto lose to frankie liles in a 2nd contest following the toney fight.

    - vinsom durham: won 21 lost 37 enough said.

    - charles williams: won 37 lost 7 drew 3,lost to maske prior to toney.

    - and finally the jones fight.

just answer my question popkins instead of ducking it and tell me what you think of the supper-mid champ fighting the following opponent during his reign

I have nothing to prove to a disgraceful moron and a joke figure like you. :deal

I will answer the question in my own way.

James Toney did exactly what ATGs Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez did during the same era, they all interspersed serious challenges with stay-busy fights.

Many ATGs did this (example: Roberto Duran) rather than rely on gym-sparring to stay sharp, many ATGs did not do this, they preferred to fight less and rely on gym-sparring to stay sharp (example: Ray Leonard).

I find it ASTOUNDING that you of all imbeciles would be one to highlight this issue, considering the DISGRACEFUL standard of opposition that your wank fantasy Joe Calzaghe feasted on during his reign:

    BRANKO SOBOT

    JUAN CARLOS GIMINEZ FERREYRA

    RICK THORNBERRY

    DAVID STARIE

    OMAR SHEIKA

    WILL McINTYRE

    MIGUEL ANGEL JIMINEZ

    TOCKER PUDWILL

    MGER MKRTCHYAN

    KABARY SALEM

    EVANS ASHIRA

    PETER MANFREDO JR

What do YOU have to say about that LONG list of DROSS?????

Why are we discussing this fight has there been talk of it?

I did hear Mayweather Sr mention that Jr could beat him a few weeks ago on Fight Hype but I didnt think there was any chance of it really happening?

Anyway I cant imagine why Floyd would want to fight him, I dont think its an easy sell plus it wont generate the kind of money he is used to seeing.

Not to mention it isnt a big challenge for Floyd imo! This guy is probably the only fighter in the game less active than Floyd lol!
