I watched Foster against Paul Hodkinson, and the truth is at that stage of his career he looked "shot", his punch resistance had gone. But on a more positive note, at one stage Foster was actually rated in Boxing News top 15 in Europe. The night Foster fought HoKo, he brought a crowd of about 15 supporters with him from Dublin I assume, and they looked very anxious at times. I think they feared for their safety. I suppose they had good cause with their brogue and at , as anyone with a English accent might have felt the same in those days. Thankfully things have changed.
Looking at this card again, and you realise that four of these boxers actually went onto fight for world titles, and HoKo won the title on his second attempt. Fight of the night was Casey [a former European bronze medalist] against Alan McCullough [ Wayne's brother]. McCullough was never in a bad fight. Some of us nicknamed Alan, "nobbins" McCullough as most of his fights ended with people throwing money into the ring for him and his opponent.

I'm hearing that Alio is running a show on 7th May in Mandela Hall, Queens University [students union]. Luke Wilton will headline.
There's also some talk of a show in Lurgan during May. A new promoter from Lurgan is meant to be involved.

Yeah I was training in Johns Gym in the Bronx when i was living in NY last year. training with alot of Golden Glove winners, Junior Olympians and young pro's was a great experience plus the coaches have a lot of time for you even if your older and just starting out. Over here I think if your over a certain age and looking to start boxing coaches wont take you serious and will concentrate more on younger fighters.
