Bugner is a fighter who fought in the best era of the heavweight division, fought the very best, and as such carved a legacy for himself in boxing history.

The fighter you have such a worrying fetish for is a domestic level fighter, barely known outside of Australia, who is desperately fighting to salvage his career on April 13th against a relative novice.

Surely even a bone-headed, Johnny-come-lately like yourself can make the above distinction.

The issue was that Limp-wrist Louie 20A87 claimed Ellis fought Mundine 'to make a name for himself'. When it was pointed out to 20A87 that Ellis was a former world title holder, amazingly he actually apologised for his silly statement.

It's just now that he conveniently wants to pretend it never happened.

 

so then tell me why did Ellis fight Mundine? i thought it pretty clear from that article. Ellis already had a name for himself yes as a washed up former champ with drug and alchol issues, he saw it as an oppertunity to relaunch his career, defeating Mundine would have just done that, going from the article you can see he has aspirations of defeating Mundine and making challenge to Otkke and is gripe that others are getting a crack when he is not, claims he has a big mouth and its not for the money etc blah blah.

 

You're forgeting the most important thing here Ty:

20A87 apologised at the time for his mistaken claim about Ellis.

Like it or not Bugner lost to the best and his crowning acheivements are his WBF 'world title' and as a cameo on Choc's tv show.

Mundine is a two weight world champ, fighting for pride on the 13th of april.

1/ You claim local derby specialist Anthony Mundine is more significant to boxing than Joe Bugner - a claim that's just laughable to anyone who knows the first thing about boxing!

2/ You conveniently forget claiming Elllis fought Mundine 'to make a name for himself' - even though you actually apologised for your mistake at the time!

 

Just stick with your 'Mundine will win a world title in 2011' and your 'I haven't posted in a pro-Mundine thread for 6 months'.


...and here's that simple question again for you:

Why is it that you post long lists of fights you'd like to see but never include the guy who you repeatedly claim 'win, lose or hang them up I'm still a fan?'
