To win Macklin is going to have to box much better than he did against that Spanish guy.

Your a Gevor fan ive read your previous posts on him. It will be Macklins hardest test without a doubt.

That goes without saying really. This is definitely Macklins toughest fight yet. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he stops Gevor. I think he'll win a very narrow UD or a SD.

'Fan' might be pushing it but yeah, I have a certain admiration for him because he's not very talented but always brings the fight to his opponent and gives it 100%. Plus IMO, deserved the victory against Sturm and got shafted.

It will be a decent scalp for Macklin at middleweight, I'm not reading much into Gevor's loss to Sartison because the guys pretty small even at middle. So to fight at 168lbs gives up everything he's good at as a pressure fighter.

Macklin by close ud or sd. In his biggest fights previously macklin has managed to raise his game a level, and im hoping he will be able to against Gevor aswell. Should be a very exciting fight whoever wins!

Longer the fight goes the more you fancy Gevor to win it. Macklin has to start lot lot better then recent bouts where he's not really done a great deal to dishearten his opponents.

i slightly favour Macklin for two reasons.

    1) Home advantage
    2) Gevor only had 5 weeks notice

he seems like the sort of fighter who fights to the level of his opponent to so wouldn't read to much into the previous fights.

wasnt there a problem in the build up to the last fight to?

If he beats Gevor well, who is a very decent operator himself then he will get is world title shot and not get shafted in the money department.

But most of all he will be mentally ready to challenge for one. Cant walk into to a title fight after the Varon show and expect to be 100%.

    Really needs to win well.

that was it...although it has to be said fighters get ill quite allot during the final weeks and training and it generally caused by over training so can't be used as an excuse. boxing is not a 36 minute sport.

I guess we'll find out a lot about Macklin's power in this fight. There were murmurings of illness or w/e against Varon. Maybe it was true maybe not. But if he's got power he should be able to hurt Gevor or stop him marching him down.

I fancy Macklin by stoppage here, I feel he always fights to the opponents level, it'll be a hard one but one he'll come through I feel,

I love it, so Macklin wins due to two factors unrealated to Macklins ability. Great choices!
