I've noticed this quite a few times here. General disrespect and ridicule for a man who had an impressive career, despite not being the most talented boxer around. People seem to forget he lost only to the two most talented fighters on the planet. Floyd was obviously a step above him, talent wise, and his preperation in the run up to the Pacquiao fight was derailed by Floyd Snr. Don't get me wrong, he'd have lost anyway, but he should have lasted longer than 2 rounds. Despite his flaws you can't argue that he was a ring warrior.

because if you take away the two losses, his resume is ridiculously thin.

He needed SOMETHING on there to point out how good he was, I dont count the Tzsyu fight, because of Kostya's condition at the time

To discredit pacquiao. All haters want to talk about is how he got KTFO vs mayweather and how he got rocked by by lazcano but also forgetting to mention he won at least 10 of the 12 rounds in that fight.

Then for some reason they completely forget how good he look vs malignaggi in that november fight prior to the pac-delahoya fight.

I agree with you on Tzsyu.

But Castillo, Urango, Collazo, even Malinaggi? They're not exactly bums.

I agree the Hit-Man is a warrior and will rightly be remembered has one by people who have a clue. I think his shocker against Pac altered a lot of uneducated peoples opinions of him. Also i think a lot of people are zealots, and it bothers them when a honest guy makes a success of himself, and also a lot of folk don't like the English.

Hatton was a very good 140 lbs champion.
His win over Tszyu imo was impressive.

No shame in losing to the best p4p fighter in the world in Mayweather Jr.........
.....or even getting knocked out by the PED cheating, test refusing Manny Pacroid.

The hell with all the keyboard wannabe warriors quick on the gun to criticize, be proud Ricky!:bbb

Judging by your joined date, if you ain't an alt then you missed out on how many esb posters were saying hatton is gonna KTFO pacquiao prior to the fight.

Many posters here were saying hatton was the first live opponent pac has face since marquez and that hatton will knock him out with a body shot etc. Now all you'll hear are excuses. Never ending excuses:deal

Hatton was a warrior and there's no shaming in losing to Pac or Floyd, but his best win is Tszyu and it's kind of a suspect win considering Tszyu's condition at the time. Obviously he won it but this isn't exactly prime Kostya. Wins over Malinaggi, Urango, etc. are good but that doesn't make him a world beater.

I think you might be right there.:thumbsup

I don't mind saying I was a fan of his, and I wanted him to do well in that fight. There's no doubt in my mind he could have given Pacquiao a tough (losing) battle if the preperation had been right.

You just can't write a post without degrading Pacquiao, huh? Do you know for sure he uses PED's? Did you subscribe them to him? Hasn't anyone ever demanded you to do something you didn't want to do? Didn't you just post a video of Pac saying he'll take the tests?

Ricky Hatton was far from a bum.. One of the best 140lb champions..

If you agree on Tsyzu then you HAVE to also discount Castillo aswel. Castillo was in even worse condition than Tszyu. Castillo was absolutely shot to death by the time he fought Hatton. Finished. Even British TV, setanta, Sky sports they all said it.

Collazo?? Many ppl actually thought he lost that fight and was lucky to get a gift decision for the HBO fighter.

Urango?? Nothing special, and if you remeber Hatton hugged him death it was a horrible fight **** boring borderline unwatchable.

Malignaggi... he looked decent against a fighter who cant punch who arguably lost to Lovemore Ndou in his last fight.

    So there you go
