I was very impressed by him. His technical skills are undeniable. However i think he could have ended that fight much sooner. Probably 3-5 at the latest. He doesnt seem to have the hunger. This is the first time i have seen him so i dont know if it was just this fight.
He does remind me a little of JMM. Great shot selection not the same speed and power though.
Chin also seems to be pretty solid.

Yep, think so as well. Managed correctly, he can be bigger than he is now.

He is young but I don't see (yet?) anything to see him beyond a contender. I don't see Khan, Berto, Bradley or Ortiz level talent.

He does have the mental fortitude of an experienced fighter that none of the 3 guys I listed above (Bradley has it). Yeah right now he is JMM lite.

So you're saying JMM is a lower level than Berto, Bradley and Ortiz???

Anyways. He is at 126. How do you see him doing against Gamboa or JML??

I think he has a shot against both actually. Me and my brother got into it about that fight. I said he showed solid defense power and chin and i think he can take Gamboa. JML now thinking about it would be another good fight i could see him in.

Gamboa lets face it makes alot of mistakes and he is able to get away with it because he isnt facing top notch competition. I give him the edge against JML because Lopez defense is not the greatest and can be chinny.
Against Garcia i dont think Gamboa is going to be landing as often as he normally does and he will be met with return fire in combinations that carry power.

Im gonna say it. Garcia UD Gamboa.

    Huh?
I said he is a JMM lite.
Maybe this is a language thing, but here in America "lite" means a watered down version of the original. Something that is less potent. Like Diet Coke = Coke Lite.

Gamboa would eat him alive. He took some punches from a a very limited Remil. This would be JMM lite vs Pac lite. but the Pac in this one might have more speed and pop while the JMM on this one is less technical savy.

He has a decent chance against JML, but I think he still loses in a TKO late rounds.

At least in this point in his career. He can still grow. Khan has done it in the last few years with Roach and Grandpa Garcia has shown to be a world class trainer.

Garcia was fighting a decent class C last saturday, who broke into Mike's defense a couple of times but with no power to make any damage.
Gamboa is improving after every fight and i believe hasnt reach his peak yet.I dont think( and this is not the cuban talking) that Mike is ready to take that one yet,but i'm sure he is the most promising boxer coming behind gamboa and lopez and i'll be looking forward to see his next fight.
(and dont forget Nonito is planning going up in weight!)

yes he is, he's only what 23? he started boxing late and is coming along nicely, he needs that killer instinct, the aggressiveness.

Oh ok my bad. I didnt read that completely.

See the thing is Garcia was taking REmillards punches fairly well so i think he stopped caring but his D seems really tight. I think against Gamboa he would be more careful and from the looks of it his chin looked solid. I see him having trouble the first 4-5 rounds then after that taking over.
JML-Garcia would be good too. This one is more evenly matched in the physical aspects so i would pick Garcia to beat JML as well only by TKO though.

The wild card is Garcia looked passive in this fight. I dont know if thats his MO or just doesnt have the passion for the finish.
Man FW is about to blow up. Could end up being one of the best if not the best division in boxing soon.

I like Garcia's patience. People say he doesn't have a killer instinct. He let the KO come to him and it did.

He seems very intelligent in the ring and takes his time wearing his opponent down.

    Sturdy chin, decent power.

I dont think he would be fazed fighting Gamboa or Lopez any time soon, not sure if he would win either though.

Overall he is pretty good. I think he has a bright future but just like other people mentioned, I just didn't see that killer instinct. As for a fight with Gamboa, I cant see Garcia beating Gamboa yet.
