I wasn't all that impressed. His opponent was horrible and it's a disgrace that HBO put such limited fighters on their show

He has the potential, but I think it still relatively early to call it.....

I liked his style, I thought he fought, clean, precise and rather surgical considering his still relatively green. He had some defenseive holes where he took some hits, but those are gaps you close through experience......I look forward tokeeping up with his career.:happy

That is very true. Being 23 though its only a matter of time before he implements this.

Gamboa, JML, Garcia, Caballero, John, Hasegawa, Rafa Marquez, Litzau, PDL

All make for great fights in the near future. I think this division has the best potential within a year or 2. LWW move over!!!

Lets see... I have to admit that I am the slightest bit unsure and to call him the next Marquez is extremely premature

Yeah, he has a lot of potential, but he won't beat JuanMa, Gamboa, Nonito at any stage of his career. :rasta

    Why do you say that?
Gamboa and JML are both vulnerable. Their defense is not that great and their chin has been shaky before.
Donaire well we need to see him move up first. He is 2 weight classes lower so its really premature to put him in the mix at 126 already.

If anything i see him as being more complete already than Gamboa and JML. Donaire is pretty complete but like i said he is 2 weight classes lower as of now. We need to see him tested at 126 before we go on saying he can compete there.

I also think Mikey is ready, he is the type of fighter that will shine when greater opponents are put in front of him..

You saw him win easily half assing it saturday...

Definitely needs to work on delivering more body shots, also he threw some very nice combos at times... He needs more to satisfy me when JMM is gone jajaja. Because he has the potential. Just needs more hunger, and agressivenes and only a really good fighter that is gonna push him is ever gonna bring out that deadly side in him....

Throw him in with JML or Gamboa its not like they are god at this point. Who else is Mikey gonna face? Hasegawa? Chris John? Caballero?

Mikey is already the #1 Contender for Gamboa's Belt I believe they were saying in HBO. Make it happen.

Thats what im saying after the 1st round i saw Garcia establish his dominance and thouight it wouldnt go more than 3 then it seems like he just went on auto pilot which even then he dominated the whole time. I think he saw it was too easy and didnt bother to try his best.
I wanna see him in there with someone who is gonna press him nonstop so he can show his full arsenal and guts. I really only see the top guys bringing this out of him.

i'm with you about making big fights, but i see a young talent with so much future and it bothers me if it gets spoiled in a rush for a big fight.
