We don't know how far Pavlik is gone.
I don't blame the man if he takes 2 bullshits fights before getting back into the top teir fighters.

You don't like it then don't watch.

The fact that Pavlik avoided the direct rematch with Martinez shows that he is not hungry to get back to form. It's a shame because he could have been great. Now at best he'll become a gatekeeper.

    Pavlik a gatekeeper.
    You people disgust me.

Pavlik lost to Hopkins, fought a close fight with Martinez and now hes a gatekepper. Smh.

What a bunch of ****in idiots. Obviously Pav is just looking to get back in the ring. As other more intelligent posters have stated, he hasn't a major win in years, had a long lay off, and is trying to beat his own demon's of alcohol.

And yet, he should fight Andrade right off the back? Pav isn't looking to make some major statement, as some have suggested. He isn't going to use this as a cheap way to a title shot. It's just to get him back in the ring. Some unrealiastic mother****ers here...

Just making a calculated guess as to Pavlik's future based on his apparent lack of desire. Why would a former champion not choose to exercise an immediate rematch clause? Doesn't bode well for Pavlik's future. He seems to have lost his desire.

If you're just going to blindly ignore the fact that Pavlik wanted nothing to do with getting his title back that makes you a blind fool. If the crown fits. . .

Because he had a drinking problem to take care of.
Or would you rather him fight Martinez with a drinking problem?

Then you're a uncaring heartless dumbass if you don't want to recognize the fact that this man was having **** load of problems even before the Martinez fight.

I rather be a blind fool.

I can see there's no point in discussing this further with you. I have always been a Pavlik fan - but the fact that the man had a "drinking problem" while he was middleweight champion of the world shows a lack of character as Cus D'Amato would say and does not bode well for his mental health while he is not champion. Pavlik's better days seem long behind him. Sergio Martinez is the next great middleweight that everyone hoped Pavlik would be.

AND it would have had to be at 160 again, which reportedly at the time Kelly just could not make...no sense to bull **** people and hope he could...there was no way he could do it.

No **** Sherlock. You have no idea what that man has/have been through. You have no idea what is going on in his head. Obviously his "character" was off. He took rehab and his now trying to come back. You want him to start fighting top opposition right off the bat?
