How many times has Gamboa touched the canvas, how many of them from A or even B level competition? Exactly. Naz has way more pop than any fighter than fighter Gamboa has faced. Yes Naz has been tagged the difference is he is more resilient from flash KDs than Gamboa. While agree he has speed and pop, more so than MAB, it does not change the fact that is he vulnerable from flash KDs, even at 130. It will be a good fight but I give it to Naz, even though I can't stand some of his delusional fans.
MAB was stopped at a weight that we all though he was invincible and then loss to Jr again by UD, I think is a fair reasoning, he didn't move up in weight until 3 or 4 years later, so I don't know why mention the weight, he has loss at 126 and at 130 too, and gave one of his best at 122 in his first fight against Morales, I suggest you take a look at the Gamboa KD and tell me if he is been hurt and how many has been legit, IMO Gamboa will win against Barrera and will not b pretty.
We don't have to agree and this fight will never happen, but maybe in a couple of years you will change your mind, Naz was an overrated fighter that quit after losing against the first live body he fought, this are facts.
Without a doubt this could change dramatically. Gamboa is young with a lot of physical raw talent. And he seems more than willing to advance those talents with superior technical skillset. Naz was always resistant to do the same.
You're favouring Gamboa because MAB has been defeated? You're favouring Gamboa because MAB then lost a very close, debatable decision in a rematch? This is your reasoning? I thought it would have been obvious why I mentioned the weight. Gamboa is a 126lbs fighter. If Gamboa was to ever fight MAB it would be at Featherweight, not at 122lbs, which is where he was stopped by Junior Jones in 1997. The Jones result seemed to be the basis for your argument, but Marco clearly went on to improve as a fighter and was more well rounded in 2000-2003. Gamboa ain't no Manny Pacquiao, and MAB had clearly seen better days by the time he fought JMM in 2007. He'd been a professional since 1989. I'd suggest you calm down and wait a little while before you starting favouring a relatively unproven 20 fight novice over one of the greatest Featherweights of the last 20-30 years. Just curious, are you Cuban?
It is a valid opinion, he is every bit on their Level at his peak but he wasnt near his best against an extremely motivated and peak MAB thats why he lost a decision after a poor performance, he should never have left his old trainer Ingle, he pissed me off at the end of his career because he has allowed haters and idiots to spout their nonsense "he lost to Barrera so he wasnt any good blah blah blah" As for Gamboa, Naz beats him any day of the week, Naz was top quality from a young age, had amazing punch power and an equally solid chin, cant see many H2H beating him on his best days.
Glass will shatter folks. Glass will shatter indeed. Gamboa would be sprawled out on the canvas inside 4 rounds vs The Prince.
I have to give props to both guys they are really the size of bantams and they fighting featherweights. Naz only lost to an ATG and because he undertrained, but that's no excuse. That's one thing I don't think Gamboa will ever do. In the past I picked Naz, he has beaten the better opposition than Gamboa, but now I'm shifting towards Gamboa. His defense has improved and I find him hard to beat. Prime for prime I have them about the same. Both very chinny, but have one punch power.
I don't cling to Adamek like you do to your preferred fighters, I favor both Klitschkos over him though I consider him a live dog, and I'm not dumb enough to act like he's an ATG LHW/CW/HW like you would do if he was one of your favorites. Naz doesn't deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as the fab four, only you are dumb enough to think otherwise.
I'm a calm kind of guy, if you read others post by me you will find out that Barrera was/is one of my fav, and if we were talking about a kid with only 20 fights, believe me I'll not b favoring him ove the assasin, but that is not the case, Gamboa is not a novice, he is new in the pro ranks but not a novice. And yes I'm Cuban and I'll not favor Gamboa against a prime JM Marquez and I don't like the lad.
Gamboa is a very different fighter from MAB. MAB was able to cleverly diffuse a faded Hamed and not get caught in a brawl with a noted banger. I suspect the current Gamboa would not show that kind of discipline and find himself trading with Hamed which is a mistake. It would be entertaining while it lasts but whenever an opponent traded with Hamed they usually got sparked out. Hamed by KO in a barnstormer.
