maybe he was a bit pissed of at how booth got molitor at home in a voluntary defence and he had to wait to become mandatory for the wbc and fight in Japan

Munroe is the one fighter that Maloney has done superb with.

Maybe he's thinking of giving it away or cutting back..... he's not had a great couple of years IMO.

Perhaps Munroe fancies another crack at world level and doesn't fancy the domestic merry go round, and fair play to him for that. The Hattons are well in with GBP and obviously HBO as a result, so there's bound to be an opportunity for Rendall at some stage.

    Donaire maybe :hey

Yeah I think he would of had a much better chance vs Molitor but didn't they want him to face Kiko again? Either way there wasn't a mission of getting Nishioka over to the UK.

Yeah shame he couldn't have got hold off Molitor. Would have won that.

I heard reports a while ago that Maloney was planning to retire, then a different article on the scene that said Hatton and Maloney might be merging. :think

As others have said Maloney has done well for Munroe but I'm not really surprised he's moving on.

Im don't wanna slag of Rendall Munroe because he has a family and only a few years left in the sport so he should make as much money in the 2-3 years he has left in the sport.

But Maloney has taken a relatively standard boxer and made him a attraction and one of the most respected fighters in the country. Add to that Munroe has paid of his mortgage in full and has 6 figures sitting in his bank account after the Nishioka fight.

Have to feel for Maloney here. I know he has been close to packing it in a few times this might be the final straw. strange as he and hattons were talking about a partnership last week.

Good for Munroe if there is. The Hattons mean business. I've been very impressed with the way they've been doing things, especially their match-making. The Vassel fight is a good recent example.

To be fair it was Munroe that went out and easily beat Kiko Martinez twice, then knocked over Terrazas in the eliminator.

I'm always reluctant to side with promoters when these sorts of things happen, at the end of the day it's the fighter putting the hard yards in at the gym and being punched in the face by the likes of Nishioka.

I supported Khan's decision to leave for America and I support Munroe in this case too.

When I've seen him weigh in around feather he's looked more than comfortable. However, if he can make 122 comfortably then he should go for that - his power will tell more and he'll have physical advantages. He's a big lad who doesn't look out of place at feather.

Back on topic...Hatton's should be doing their best to get Ndlouvo (sp) over here for Munroe. His best bet at a title.

i guarantee Munroe got far more money for the Nishioka fight than Booth got for Molitor.
