yeah... & jirov was well known as having difficulty making weight at cruiser.

so off course he could make 175 & 168 in a snap right?

    :patsch

Actually the majority of his career he would weigh in under the 190lb limit between 186-189. Even when he fought Mesi he weighed in around 208 but in the ring was only 203.

In a fantasy scenario a 177-180lb catchweight would be more than realistic. Even 175 if you're talking about a pre 2001 Jirov.

Ya must be a Welshman, cause I smell...*****! :yep:yep

Only you bitches are afraid to move up or do to make a fight, which is another reason why Calzaghe would lose.

He wouldn't only be outboxed by Jirov, but Jirov would take his heart.

Calzaghe is known for only fighting safe fights over his entire career. If there was a grain of danger involved, then Slappy wanted no parts of it. :deal

bull****. he had well known problems making weight for several fights at cruiserweight. if he could have got down to 175 there were loads of money fights for him there...but he couldn't (& i appreciate that pissy little boxrec warriors like yourself who weren't following the sport at the time won't get that...so i'll go easy on you). why would anyone compete solely in the weakest, least well known division if he could easily have made weight in one of the most monied divisions of that time period?

in fact...wasn't a tarver fight specifically scuppered by jirov being unable to make 175 & tarvers refusal to compete as a full blown cruiser? i think it was. he could have been at 175 chasing the big names but instead he took on a string of bums...then moved up to heavyweight when the cruiserweight limit was RAISED. what leads anyone to think he could get to 175 yet alone 168? :-(

Wasn't Jirov a cruiser? Even at LHW Jirov too big too strong for Calzaghe. Jirov by UD.

1st off i never sais Jirov could make 168.The thought of Jirov making 168 is absurd. He fought as a teenager in the amateurs at LHW (178lbs)

Here is Jirov and his manager talking about fighting Jones and Michalczewski and saying that he would meet at a 185lb catchweight.
