Top Rank pulled a fast one this weekend on the boxing world. Yuriorkis Gamboa was the holder of the WBA regualr and the IBF titles going into his fight with Jorge Solis. He failed to even appear for the same day weigh in which the IBF insist upon to make sure a fighter does not re-hydrate a certain amount and come on with an unfair advantage over there opponent. Top Rank will have known that the IBF, the strictest of the sanctioning bodies would strip Gamboa for his failure to show up to a weigh in. This would seem a bad move for Top Rank except for the face...Mickey Garcia who won in the co-feature is ranked No.1 by the IBF therefore allowing him to fight for the vacant title and pick up the strap without fighting the world class Gamboa who he is clearly not ready for.
No body is ready for gamboa I'd even go as far as sayin he could go up to the SFW and dominate that division.
His manager Gonzalez is saying the fight was only contracted for the WBA title and the IBF title was not going to be on the line. They might be lawyering up to sort it all out.

Yes i noticed this before that the IBF was only on the line for Solis. As usual its all about maneuvering for promoters to get titles to those who they want to have them
