Cas 1 and 2 were his closest fights period. Oscar probaly after those two but still felt he deserved a UD in the Oscar fight. other than that he has dominated all others maybe dropped a round or two to some but still dominated and controled the fights.
Castillo I-very close fight, could have gone either way IMO...scorecards were too wide...Doug Fischer (who hates Floyd just as much as people on here) scored the fight for FLOYD BY A SINGLE POINT...despite hating Floyd he scored the fight objectively which is something people on here refuse to do or are incapable of doing. Oscar-Watched it about 4 times, it was always 9-3 Floyd IMO...the closest I could see was 8-4, I have even heard Floyd fans claim this was a close fight, I just dont see it. All I saw was DLH missing. Hatton-watched this fight drunk, and to me it looked as if Hatton BOTHERED Floyds rhythm for about 6 rounds. Watched it sober and didn't see him land anything, he may have won 2 rounds at best Castillo II- Floyd won by a decent margain (something like 9-3 or 8-4 I havent watched it in years it wasnt a good fight), wasn't a fan friendly fight, but Floyd did what he had to do to win...
He looked bad (to me) against Hatton, but you can interpret this in two ways: 1, contra Floyd, he let an inferior boxer wrestle him for 10 rounds 2, pro Floyd, he beat Hatton at his own game Oscar ran out of gas. If he hadn't, it is conceivable that he would have won one more round on Jerry Roth's card, making the fight a Majority Draw. Floyd looked bad, because he was too timid. Judah was competitve in the first 5 rounds, before he had his usual mental freeze. Some say it's because he's a southpaw, some say it's because he's fast, but he made it close for almost half the fight. Floyd looked quite uncomfortable coming forward against a counterpuncher. You gotta give it too Floyd - when he underestimated an opponent's speed, like he did with Judah and Mosley, he's not too proud to drop his fancy pocket defense and just go into a traditional high guard. Castillo was his closest actual fight. Floyd made the mistake of trying to stand his ground too much. He probably thought he could outmuscle Castillo. In the rematch, Floyd was always on the run and Castillo looked bad. Castillo is no swarmer (=volume puncher) like Pacquiao though. I don't think Floyd ever fought a true volume puncher. It should be the worst style against him, because there is no way he can just slip all punches and he's in danger of just being outworked. There aren't a lot of guys like Pacquiao around. His style is unorthodox, especially his movement patterns, he's a volume puncher and a southpaw. Although they looked quite different, I think Calzaghe would be the closest comparison. That's why I have Manny winning their hypothetical fight slighty. He should bring the worst style matchup possible for Floyd. Floyd as a counterpuncher is bad for Manny, but Floyd isn't an agressive brawler type like Marquez. He's too concerned with not getting hit. Plus, I don't think Floyd could do anything to Manny physically, that Morales or Marquez haven't done to him. If you just look at their last 5 fights, whose opponent would you rather be? That's why I think Manny has a psychological advantage here.

Castillo beat him IMO. As far as Floyd vs Chavez, Floyd was toying with Chavez. Floyd could have elected to use his legs and school him but he stayed on the ropes and fought in his shell to make it exciting. Floyd Mayweather has actually said that Emanuel Burton was his TOUGHEST fight. I think thats the only time we've seen Floyd bleed lol. (nose)...
+1 Oscar only won rounds 2, 4, and 6. $-Zab wasn't close either. Zab only won the first two rounds. The Castillo fights were pretty close. I haven't watched the rematch in a long time, but I think that fight was close too. Floyd doesn't ever "give away" the first round. Let's look at all his fights at welterweight. Mitchell didn't win a single round. Zab won the first round. Baldomir didn't win a single round. Oscar didn't win the first round. Hatton didn't win the first round. Marquez didn't win a single round. Mosley didn't win the first round. Only ONE opponent out of seven managed to win the first round against $.
DLH, Castillo and a bit against Hatton but the hatton fight you couldnt say struggled in the sense of scoring, just with the style of ricky...
My favorite $ fight. Ricky's style made for a good fight. Floyd got started earlier than usual in that fight, he was already landing power shots starting in the 1st round.
One fighter can win all the rounds....and it still can be a close fight. Not saying this was the case vs Zab...but it was a good close fight early. Floyds also fortunate that he wasn't disqualified by the stupid actions of his corner. If would have perhaps been unjust ... but if the ref was a stickler for rules, it could have happened.
Castillo I - Same here. Thought Floyd won it by a point, but not upset with people who have it going for Castillo by one. Oscar - Not close IMO. ODLH missed a **** load of punches in that fight. Crowd went wild whenever he threw and somehow people equate that to landing punches. Hatton - Don't think the fight was that close, but his style made Mayweather uncomfortable. Castillo II - Floyd won more convincingly than the first fight IMO. He didn't dominate him IMO, but wider margin than first fight.
You can easily see that Hatton didnt belong in the same ring with Floyd. Mayweather beat him EASILY. Delahoya was dominated ,i would never understand how it was a split-decision win for Floyd.
