Bad news for Nonito Donaire

I think he claimed breach of contract by Top Rank for not getting the kind of world-wide exposure Arum promised, and that was the basis to end their relationship and join another stable... if I'm correct.

Unfortunately for boxing however Bob Arum is a Harvard lawyer and poor Donaire could end up like Mayorga, who looked for other ways of earning when Don King didn't deliver the fights promised and got his ass sued, so in the end he didn't get paid by King in fact HE paid the Don 450k of his 500k Cotto payday.

These promoters make me sick, and there are some people around here defending them. atsch

 

I don't know how anyone can defend Arum. Donaire was just looking to further his career, simple as that. All this "serves him right" bull**** is ridiculous. He deserves to make big money. He's the top tier fighter putting his health on the line, so why do people prefer to see him inactive or, even worse, Arum continue to do a **** job with him? Are people happier knowing Arum is getting richer than seeing big fights?

 

If you look back at what Bob Arum did you might think he did a shitty job on Donaire's career but bottom line is Bob is just protecting Him cause he knows Pac's almost done. Look at how poor Golden Boy does when it comes to his Hyped fighters from Ortiz to Jacobs there are a ton of them. The thing is, Bob gave Nonito more than what is stipulated in the contract per fight but Nonito by the advice of his ***** Rachel thinks he deserves more thinking he's already big when he can't even sell arena's let alone a PPV event decided to stick it up to Arum by bolting to Golden Boy and ends up ****ing himself in the ass by not making any fight at all hence NO MONEY... Poor Rachel atschatschatsch

 

Without sounding like a lazy *******, can someone tell me whats going with this situation and whats rachel got to do with it.

 

Don't blame the promoter for the **** contracts. Don't these fighters have managers to help look after their interests Attorney's No one forced ANYONE to sign anything.

 

Pacquiao is promoted by Arum, that's all you need to know.

Which fighters are currently selling out arena's let along PPV events?

 

Arum is complete scum, pacman should be earning alot more than he should be.

I believe the basis for his lawsuit is that the contract calls for him to have 3 fights/year and in one year he didn't. Arum's response was that it was due to the medical suspensions and if you add that onto the year, there were 3 fights.

Does anyone honestly believe that Schaeffer/GBP is smarter than Arum when it comes to these things? I would take Arum/Top Rank to whoop GBP every time.

But I think regardless of Top Rank looking good in regards to the Donaire contract that they have decided they don't want to promote Donaire anymore and are willing to let him go to Golden Boy. The attack they made against Donaire's wife was personal and not something you do if you want to work with him.

I think this is just setting up Top Rank to get a financial percentage of Donaire's fights into 2013. Its the same thing that happened with Ortiz. GBP signed him. Arum proved he still had a valid contract with him. But then Arum still let him walk and he is still getting a percentage on Ortiz's fights with Golden Boy.

I think Arum's comments about Donaire not drawing a big crowd or big PPV #'s shows that he thinks promoting him is more trouble than just getting a piece of him and letting GBP do all the work.

 

I dont feel sorry for him. He breached his contract and will now have to pay the consequences. He was blinded with greed and will eventually lose out because of it.

 

Apparently every decision Nonito makes is because of Rachel

 

He wants to follow in Manny's footsteps.
