As I've been reading around the forum, I'm noticing that the forum is not tuned in that Hopkins has stated in the past he would not take any drug test other than that required by the commision. ......so its not like Hopkins refusing one is a suprise. When Pacquiao made a fool of himself defending his stance on PED testing, Hopkins went on record (I feel as a pre-emptive notice) that he would not take any PED test other than that required by the commision. I just chuckle at Pacquiao and Hopkins refusing these tests.........when they're being called on to take these tests, there is an easy way to diffuse the situation and possibly get the other side from dropping the demand for PED testing. All Hopkins had to do in the situation he was in with the contracts already signed is say to Pascal, "I'll take that blood test if you will........but when I pass that blood test or tests, you will fork over 20% of your pay to me if I beat you in the ring." That would likely be something that Pascal would have to mull over, the possibility that he could lose 20% of his purse. Hopkins just walking away from the demand does'nt look good on him. He's got to make Pascal a counteroffer that would make him think twice about demanding such tests.
I'm fed up of people calling out guys on drug tests. If you ain't satisfied with the testing boxing deems fit, don't become a pro boxer.
Why not get the guy to test first before insulting and dragging their name through the mud? Total ***** move atsch
This. Bunch of arm chair boxers talking smack. Like they expect boxers to just submit to another's fighter's will just to satisfy them. There's a reason why Olympic style testing isn't popular. It's freaken expensive as hell. And a freaken hassle. Just because a guy doesn't want to be tested doesn't mean he's hiding something. atsch
Yup, completely classless. He doesn't really care about testing Hopkins. He just did it to get Hopkins riled up, which he succeeded in doing.
Bernard Hopkins doesn't have to do a ****ing thing. He doesn't have to give a counter offer, he can tell Pascal to go **** himself. The regulations are set by the commission, Hopkins is abiding by these. If Pascal demands Hopkins to walk into the ring wearing a pink tutu, should he just give in to these demands also? Or make some sort of comprimised counter offer? No, he should tell him to get ****ed!
The more the fighters ask for this the better boxing will become... Hopkins refusal to take PED testing will give anyone the right to question him. These guys make a lot of money, promoters, figure a way to clean boxing. Hey if its for a title fight make the organizations WBC,WBO, IBF, or WBA pay for these testings esp. when they are charging all these fees.
You are wrong, he takes what testing is given so he has no one to answer to. Just like everyone else, they pass the tests given they are free to box. Bringing in testing that is neither needed or necessary for a pro boxer is pointless.
Oh the irony for GBP. A partner of theirs refuse extra drug test yet they were willing to smear another boxer's reputation for the same test. Oh the irony.
