there's a quote from Basilio a little before this fight where a reporter asks him something along the lines of "9 out of 10 journalists pick Robinson over you how do you respond to that?" Basilio responded with "i'd say 9 out of 10 are wrong!"

    Like a boss.

That vid makes me sad... People in the mid to late 50's got to see fights like SRR vs Basilo, and we DON'T EVEN get Pac vs Floyd :sad2

Im reading "Sweet Thunder" right now. Its a book on Rays life.
Its pretty good so far. Right now im just starting to get into his amateur career. I thought he just changed his name to Ray Robinson but Ray Robinson was a boxer on his amateur team that quit and Ray took his place so his team wouldnt have to forfeit the match. He basically took over this kids identity the rest of his life so he could fight that night. It does have a better ring that Walker Smith Jr. though.

Damn....Ray outweighed carmen by 6 1/2 pounds at the weigh in....im guessin Ray weighed around 170 on fight night and carmen weighed the same (153 1/2)! Also the height diff is 4 and a 1/2 inch! These are what you call true warriers....they fought all and everybody put in front of them, they didnt duck and dive no way near as much as nowadays....any excuse not to fight and they use it!
