Kell Brook next fight?

Warren should try bring Zaveck over.

 

That guy is quite good. I don't know if Brook is even ready for him. This is the problem, he's had such soft opposition its difficult to know where he stands. He also has clear technical flaws such as backing up in straight lines which is the sort of thing that can be brutally exposed under pressure. Which is why I've always doubted him against the Aydin's, maybe Zaveck too.

 

Zaveck would stop him. Brook is no Hlatswhatyo.

 

the european title is vacant. Brook should have been in a position to fight for it.

i think he is currently out of contract still so survaying his options.

 

You aren't going to go for the European when you are ranked #1 by the WBO.

I think they outsmarted themselves by expecting Pacquiao to either vacate or be effectively forced to by moving up.... when really the WBO will do all it can to keep Pac as it's champion.

Ten Brook fights wouldnt net them the fees that Pac vs Shane will.

Yep, I'm afraid if Brook sticks with Warren much longer he'll have run out of excuses re the opposition he's had...

 

Quick questions guys - who has Brook beaten to be ranked No. 1 by the WBO? Is it that fixed that Brook can just knock over cans (and Jennings) to get to the #1 spot?

 

I would like to see Kell fight Mike Jones or another top10 ranked contender this year.

I'd also like to see Kell sign with Hearns or go to the states & join GBP.

Im big fan of the thpecial one its not his fault his division is the most competitive.

 

I know its doubtful but it would be good if Warren got a bigger name fighter to try see where Brook really is. Alfonso Gomez, Soto Karass or Joel Julio is coming back to 147 I think

 

The thing is all these 'lesser' names in the welterweight top 10 are all good fighters and likely have the experience and skill to beat brook at the moment. Brooks talented but he hasn't had a true test against anyone nearing world level, unless you count the anticlimax jennings fight. Zaveck is a good talented fighter who I would strongly favour to beat brook at this time.

Brook isnt like Cleverly whose opponents in general have been an improvement each time. there's not much he can learn from opponents who are just turning up for the money

 

I rate Brook. I obviously agree that he remains untested as the opposition has not been great, but at this point he has to be thinking in terms of what will position him best for a shot at a major world title. So I agree that the European title would be too much of a sideways step. He suddenly risks being not that young any more and just becoming a professional contender. It would be a risk, but I think he needs to start calling fighters who are ranked in the top ten by the major bodies and trying to get fights against them. There are quite a few guys there who don't have belts and might well want the fight. He just needs to fight one, two or three of those and hope that that puts him in position to fight for a major title. Let's face it, if he is talking about becoming world champion then he really has to take a major risk at some point.

Just would be nice to have a British fighter target a dominant reign at the top, ie. get there and stick around for a few years winning at that level, rather than seeing simply getting to the top as the pinnacle and then basically being finished soon after.
