Vitali's punch stats are incredible

Your a ******..I can accept that Vitali outlanded Lewis in the fight and out punched him. I can accept the fight on the card was 4-2 in Vtiali's favour, but I've been watching boxing for over 40 years ass hole and I know what I see.

Vitali did not win the last round and did not "walk Lewis down" that's complete bull**** and the judges card provide it as well as my own eyes. It's on video for fsake..anyone who watches can see that if Lewis won any round, and he obviously won 2, that was one of them..so give it up.

Learn to be objective and maybe others will give you some credit for what little knowledge you possess.

Paulfv is highly bias when it comes to Vitali. His description of the 6th round would be too over the top even for a Hollywood studio.

If that was Vitali walking Lewis down, then Vitali did so while looking like a wounded deer in the headlights, gasping for air. Vitali almost fell over keeling when Lewis backed up to get room for punching. He was definitely hurt, there's no doubt about it. Maybe it was a reverse psychology move to show Lewis he was weak when he was really strong. I seriously doubt that, though.

"Walking somebody down," in boxing terms, means stalking a guy and running through him. That is definitely not what I said Vitali was doing in the 6th round.

I don't know how people get this stuff so confused. I guess it's the emotions of rooting for/defending "their guy," or whatever.

 

Leaning on, walking down... whatever you want to call it. It was Vitali, with his terrific work-rate who stopped punching, and starting clinging/holding on for dear life. No brilliant maneuvers or tactics like you try to describe. He wasn't doing so in that manner previously either, because he was never as badly hurt or weary till that point.

Anyway, no worries, I don't mind Vitali getting his prop's and for the most part, he's probablyy a little under rated, but in no way is that an accurate discription of what took place during that round.

 

Listen, if you don't know the difference between walking a guy around the ring and walking a guy down, you should find out, fast.

Walking a guy around the ring means imposing your strength and dominance on him. Physically imposing yourself on him. Many times it's done to wear a guy down physically. And can be just as useful mentally, to get in a guy's head that you're stronger than him and have more energy left than he does.

This is what Vitali was doing to Lewis in Round 6. He was deliberately trying to wear down Lewis and sap Lewis' physical and mental energy. He was making the fight more of a brawl.

The part where you said Vitali nearly fell over leaning? That was Vitali deliberately "laying on" Lewis with his full torso weight. That's done to wear down a smaller man. It's intentional. And it was working.

Lewis landed the two uppercuts in the round. The first one was solid, and stunned Vitali for a moment. The second one did almost nothing. Before that punch, and in between the two uppercuts, Vitali was physically mugging Lewis. I forgot about the short right hand Vitali landed with about 35 seconds left in the round, which wobbled Lewis' legs.

Did Lewis win the round? Yes, because the uppercuts looked good. But Vitali was working to win the "war," so to speak, as opposed to the "battle" of the round.

The one thing I will say against Vitali's strategy on that point was that it might not have been the best one given how bad his eye was. He probably should have attacked harder rather than try to play an energy game with Lewis.

But Vitali didn't realize how his eye looked and didn't expect the fight to be stopped. What he was doing was working, but he didn't have the chance to see the strategy through.

I'm pretty honest, though, on here. I said for years that Mayweather would beat Pacquiao even though I can't stand Mayweather. I'm not going to make stuff up just to root for someone. I call stuff as straight as I can, though I know my takes aren't always correct.
