Who would win? Todays' version of Bute vs. the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins.

I think Bute has more power, better technique and a better chin than Joe but JC does have speed and a high workrate.

If Joe tries to fight inside (where hes best at) can he withstand a couple of Bute body shots?

    I dont think he can....Thoughts???

I think Calslappy barely wins it.
He probably has to pick himself of the floor for a very close decision purely on workrate.

By the way, I believe Bute is the real thing... I expect him to beat Froch and Ward.

    Calzaghe UD

Not sure where you're getting that better chin assertion. Calzaghe's recent two knockdowns came against two light heavyweights and he's risen from his KDs and won both fights. He's also been down a total of 4 times in his career, and they were all flash KDs.

In comparison to the time Bute got hit and by who he got hit with, I'm not sure you can say Bute has the better chin.

And remember about the part where they said Kessler was better than Calzaghe in an outboxing match and Calzaghe should fight inside instead, Calzaghe outjabbed, then took away the jab and distance fighting away from Kessler's arsenal.

And fighting the cagey Hopkins in his own game is not a good gauge of how a fighter is technically or not. That fight was a boring foulfest.

Looks like Calzaghe has fallen into the boxing fan's nostalgia zone.

This is a very easy win for Calzaghe against the inactive Bute.

Bute is good good speed and decent power but whos he beaten

Miranda whos a power puncher but little else. Mcgee who is just short of being world class and Andrade who nearly had him beat in the first fight....

Bute has a good range of body shots etc but hes not been in with anyone at true world class level yet - hes will compete against the best but i think he will come up short

Froch Dirrell Ward would all beat him one way or another

Against Calazaghe he would have to cope with joes speed and workrate and well as a great chin and a fighter who can adapts and despite the slapping had enuff pop to keep a fighter honest for every punch Bute landed Joe would aim to land 1,2,3 more. Cant see past a calzaghe win really

The Calzaghe who fought Hopkins will pull of a comfortable decision vs Bute....
Prime Calzaghe however will completely annihlate Bute, probably win a 119-107 decision..
    This is not even close..
