    Is that true Rob?

Considering you get £16k for losing in a Prizefighter final that is dreadful.

In any case, after Mitchell took the **** out of everyone with that Katsidis farce going straight back in with a big title fight is more than he might have expected, a lot of people would be consigned to a few domestic fights to work themselves back up after such a poor showing in what was not even a full world title fight against a good but limited opponent with home advantage. I was a massive Mitchell fan, but think that his ego is out of relation to his history, now, he needs to get more real with what he is worth in my opinion. So I chalk up this fight falling apart as Mitchell's fault, and I like him.

the bbc report said it was less than £30k. printer will confirm it was around 20k.

Considering selling 1000 tickets would more than cover that amount, which Mitchell would do with ease (same cannot be said about Murray) he was not getting a fair deal. Mitchell may be the one of the way down but at least he has been there, Murray has never even been close to world level.

Its irrelivent now as Mitchell got the better deal he wanted, so he was correct to demand that. But the fight isn't happening. Murray and Gallagher are right to hold out for DeMarco. Mitchell can happen later in the year and it will be a bigger fight.

would expect Mitchell vs Arthur/Cook at the 02 in May and then a push toward the vacant european giving him the WBC ranking allowing him to be Murrays voluntary.

Sorry Rob remind us who is the unbeaton European Champ and who is the one who got embarrased against a limited top ten fighter?

Mitchell as many have said has to realise his stock has dropped bigtime and needs to take these oppurtunites if he want's to back in the mix.

Your comment about Murray fighting nowhere near world class is spot on but come on mate take Katsidis out of the picture which was an embarrasment who the **** has Mitchell fought?

Sorry, in a bad mood today so was grumpier than usual but he sold us all on this idea that he could land a belt, beat Katsidis in an absolute war, give London a hero to cheer for and launch a full-on assault on the world stage and become the next big fighter from the UK, all he needed was home advantage and fan support. Then he decided to row with his girlfriend instead of training, not tell anyone including Warren, and fight like a complete turnip for less than nine minutes before going into hiding.

Sorry, I know that I am being a bit harsh but given the magnitude of the occasion and the way he helped sell it to people I just would have hoped he could have been a bit more professional. If my wife and I have a row I still turn up and put the work in, it puts food on the table and keeps a roof over the kids' heads. Mitchell obviously figured he would always be a £100,000 fighter with massive fan support so he could take time out whenever it suited him.

Its irrelivent now. You can't say Mitchell doesn't deserve to get more than his origional offer when he has since been made a better offer. He was clearly right to negotiate a better deal.

If you take Katsidis out Mitchell has the better record. Mitchell is also the bigger draw. They both need eachother.

The only person to blame for this fight not happening is Frank Warren for making Mitchell a stupid offer. If he has offered him what he accepted sicne in the first place the fight would be going ahead this weekend instead of Murray vs Spanish Cabby.

Murray signed with Warren he said "I'm looking forward to being on the big stage. Frank can make the big fights happen. My ambition has always been to headline arenas. I want to get Manchester rocking again, I've got the exciting style that the fans love and I want to be part of the Frank Warren success story just like Naz, Ricky and Joe."

But his fight this weekend is at the York Hall. Murray and his team are right to wait for the world title. Its not there fault, its not Kevins fault as always its the promoters fault.

    I agree with Skel.

Murray is the unbeaten European champion, and likely to get a world title fight in the very near future.

Mitchell is basically a nobody who got a lucky interim title shot, didn't prepare properly and was KTFO.

Even if Mitchell does win the European that in no way guarantees him a shot at Murray (should Murray win). Sillyman will probably want a mandatory defence against a Mexican first, and you get the feeling Mitchell still has to pay a pennance of sorts to Warren.

Either way, Murray beats Mitchell hands down. Too big, too strong, too good. TKO7.

I do understand where your coming from. But when was the last time you "decided" to have a row with the misses. These things just happen. I cannot be helped. At that level everything needs to be perfect. It was nieve of Kevin to go into the fight with bad preperation.

Theres a mis conception that Mitchell was out drinking and missing training sessions. Not the case. He just has allot of things on his mind outside of boxing and that can effect any fighter.

The truth is Mitchell could of had the best training camp of his life and Katsidis would have beat him, He was not ready for a world class opponent due to the level of competition he supports.

I don't think you can say that about Mitchell because he was out of the ring for a year with injurys had to get another job and borrow money from Warren (which he has paid back)

Mitchell is a nobody that has sold allot of tickets for a number of years. Remind me how mant sell out shows Murray has had?

All of a sudden the European title means something when it suits you mate?

I wouldn't say that. He has been unlucky with injury. fair play he ****ed up his big shot.

I still think he is a talanted fighter that could compete at world level given the right build up. There were easiar world champions he could have faced last year. The geezer DeMarco who Murray will fight is not in Katsidis class.
