Mitchell has sold a lot of tickets? When exactly? He's only had about five/six fights in the last four years, one of those was on the Haye vs Enzo bill and another was in the States. The rest have all been at small arenas like the York Hall or on other undercards. As for the West Ham bill, there was plenty of other ticket sellers on the show and Sky sold the arse off it too..... plus the Aussie contingent in London. As for the European, it doesn't mean a great deal to me, nor would it as a bargaining tool for Mitchell when trying to get a fight with Murray. The fact is that both of them are undercard fighters right now that don't sell a great deal of tickets. This is just another example of you plucking figures out of thin air and using hypothetical ticket sales, the cost of the tickets and the % split to suit your argument. You've no more idea about these sorts of things than the rest of us, so please don't try and claim otherwise. I'm just stating facts. Murray is the unbeaten Euro champion, Mitchell is such a big name in London that those who bought tickets to watch him (and only him) booed him on his way to the ring in his last fight..... If Mitchell manages to wangle a few quid extra off Warren then fair play to him, but it's Mitchell who needs a way back into the picture and he initially decided not to take it (it seems).
The fella who knows Mitchell has told us that he will be ringside Saturday and that he and Murray will have a row. This is obviously a set-up with a view to a fight in the summer.
Who were the other ticket sellers on the bill?? Lets get the straight once and for all. I was at the card and everyone else on this forum that went to the card agrees with me....there were no more than a couple of Aussies and the odd Greek cypriot. 90% of the crowd were there to see Mitchell. DeGale doesn't sell tickets now he certainly didn't then. Remember him bragging about "personally selling 400 tickets" lol. Gavin has a decent following but I watch his fight it was silent bar a small group. Chisora don't sell tickets, Williams don't sell tickets. Ricky Burns i watch the fight there was 1 drunk scottish bloke shouting from the VIP boxes. I met Matthew Halls fans.....all 4 of them. The Walshes may have shifted a few 100 but I was right next to them. People were there to see Mitchell, whether it was down to Frank Warrens promoting and Sky Sports it doesn't matter the main event was West Hams Kevin Mitchell fighting Michael Katsidis and it did 17,000 tickets.
Mitchell is a little runt and I hope he fights Murray cos Murray will knock him the **** out. I lost all respect for the little cockney **** after his pathetic showing in the Kats fight and everything that went with it.
Murray beat the spanish cabby tomorow. Mitchell beats Nicky Cook/Alex Arhur for an inter belt May 21st Murray beats DeMarco for the WBC in September at the MEN Mitchell wins the vacant European on the undercard and goes top 10. Murray vs Mitchell is December at the 02 or MEN. Job done Frank Warren.

Hahahaha. I lost all respect for him when he mentioned that he and his brother were like "The Krays"! You can just tell that he is a bully. Hope Murray sparks him.
I think to turn up in the state he did was part of the problem. Obviously he was never as good as Katsidis, and yeah there must have been a part of him that got incredibly nervous at the idea of fighting in front of so many people, but there is really no excuse to not give your all in terms of training etc in the build up to such a defining fight. All those excuses, maritial problems or whatever - it really was inexcusable, and he should have done something about it there and then. I invested a lot of effort into that fight in terms of getting excited for the build up, rewatching his career, selling him to my pals and stuff, and it's embarrassing when he couldn't even give a **** in the end. That makes it really hard for me to support him again, and all the bleatings since then have further made me realise he's not the boxer - or the bloke I thought he was.
Not so much the fact he got knocked out, mroe the fact that he had an oppurtunity of a life time and he didn't even give it his all. And all the pathetic **** after about him splitting up with his bird. No wonder she left him, the guy's a ****ing div!
I agree with you about using it as an excuse. Your wrong when you think he didn't give a ****. Its not that he didn't give his all. He did all his runs all his sparring everything physically was spot on it was the mental side that let him down.
see my post above. you guys are going over board. if he does it again crucify the **** and I will join you but in no way did he not show up to training and try hard. boxing is 20% physical 80% mental all the top boys will tell you that. whatever happened with his misses, it shouldn't have been used as an excuse, but sometime these things cannot be helped. he was nieve to keep it to himself and not tell Warren, Tibbs etc. The fight could have be re-scheduled he was mandatory.

mitchell doesn't sell tickets???? i've only seen him twice live. first time was an early pro fight ,as the last fight on after the audrey/williams fight. i can tell you he had several thousand staying behind who made an awful lot of noise in support of him. was also at the mitchell-katsidis fight. the huge majority of that crowd (17,000?) were west ham, and therefore mitchell supporters. some were boxing fans, some were 'part timers', others i knew had never been boxing in their lives ,but mitchell was a hammer so they were going to support their own. of course it also should be added that hundreds of tickets were sold to millwall and whu lads who were just there for the off field tear up. ps not a hammer,and am ambivalent about mitchell so no axe to grind on my part
