I know for a fact he walks around at no more than 180lbs. He's quite well built, but he doesn't bloat like many other fighters, he's a natural SMW.
Kessler is a training addict. He's well known in Denmark as a guy who always eats right. He lives a very healthy program.
He's above average in terms of size for a SMW. I've met Kessler two years ago, 3 months before his fight with Perdomo. The guy is no more than 6'1'' but I'd say he walked around 185-190 lbs at that time. On fight night, he must come in the ring at about 182-184 lbs.
when welterweights are walking around at 180-190, what makes you think super middles walk around at 180 hahah....he's easily 200
How do you explain Hopkins then? And how do you explain Kessler being at 168lbs immediately after a helluva long lay off? The man isn't that big in between fights, he's muscular, but he's always in good nick.
just cause a fighter dont look like how hatton, vargas and other fighters get, don't mean they're right around the corner from their fighting weight.....i forgot what fight it was, but at the weigh in bhop stepped on the scale messing around and he was about 190+......a friend of mine fights mma at 185, a few weeks later looks almost the same, and easily weighs 210....some guys are just built different, and kessler aint huge, but he's thick (nohomo)
He repeatedly reported on his weight on his website, and he was no more than 180-185, even during his inactivity and court dates with Mogens Palle.
kessler ?? funny you say that cause for some reason, lately he has been looking a lot slimmer than his usual self during time off.....maybe cause of his injury, he's dedicating himself physically more, since now he might have a slight disadvantage......:good
We'll see, the last inactivity did irreversable damage to him, he didn't look the same, his jab was off, his right hand was gone. Everything about him looked bad, he tried to hook with both Froch and Ward, men who are more natural than him, specially with left hooks. Kessler's a warrior and always in shape though, like Jimmy Montoya said on the 360: "He never lets himself go, he's always ready physically, he's always near the weight he should be" Kessler's a work horse, but inactivity did him bad last time out, and I can't see anything positive about this 12 months off.
180-185lbs. Always in good shape. He's a quite slim build in the flesh. Just short of the 6'1" that he is listed at. SMW is about his max. Too small for LHW.
