Maidana/Morales glove issues. I say B*****T

I don't think it makes a lot of difference at all. Maidana is getting to fight for the interim title against a shot fighter who's fighting two divisions above his best weight. If Maidana loses the only person he can blame is himself.

 

I've worn adidas, everlast, grants, and cleto reyes. Yes they gloves are designed differently to accomodate your fists better some like grants and everlast feel good to me at least for jabbing or throwing straights, and cleto's they call them the puncher's glove because they have horse hair and the way they cushion or wrap around your fists they feel alot more snug. They also made out of leather, better quality and longer lasting. Other gloves after hard use or alot or wear the inside of it starts to deteriorate and plastic pieces and the carpet like cushioning can injure your hands. Cletos are great for hooks and uppercuts IMO, but I think it won't too much of a difference. It has more to do with the person wearing them than the effects of the gloves IMO.

 

Morales at this stage in his career needs any unfair advantage he can get.

 

The only major difference I've ever noticed is that old gloves which have started to become stiff and bag gloves which usually have sewing over the contact point can cause cuts and possibly swelling which may not occur otherwise. I'd say the reason people usually make such a big deal over it is that athletes in general are very supersticious and little things can throw them off their game. There are slight differences between makes but not enough to change the result of a fight imo.

 

well iv worn winning but only 16oz and yeah they are great for training but honestly once it gets down to 8oz even 10oz i dont see much difference when i get hit.....and yes....maybe i should improve my defence lol
