Crolla would beat wright imo! no point in taking it at 2 weeks notice! why not just defend in a months time and top the bill

Crolla agreed to fight Rees but he withdraw with injury so have to fight gavin at later date we were offered LT Welter Nigel Wright but why fight him at short notice that a hard mandatory also be massive weight difference on the night Nigel been a lt welter all career Crolla a super feather !

From Joe on facebook. I call a ***** move to be honest.

I hope Crolla stays on the bill, I can understand not taking the Wright fight but hopefully they Crolla can stay on the bill and they can bring in a competitive opponent for him.

if your british lightweight champion you should be prepared to fight anyone at domestic level in the country that can make 135lbs. end of story.

I agree but it's not worth splitting ends about, provided he doesn't drop off the bill and get's a competent opponent.

However if he doesn't proceed and fight on the bill full stop, I have to say that is a poor decision and a bit fishy, because you do not reject a major showcase that you would get from being on a major bill like Khan-McCloskey and more so an opportunity to get a fight, when in this day and age opportunities to Box are few and far between.

Rob, don't make a scene. It's purely to do with it being a short notice. As the champion that's the right you have.

To be fair to Crolla, he took the Watson fight on short notice which looked a gutsy move at the time so think its unfair to be critcising him for this

Was it Anthony himself that turned it down though?

Losing in front on 20,000 in your hometown because you're not properly prepared would be worse.

Yeah, and lost. I'm sure if he had the option he would have done it properly but he couldn't because he wasn't Champion.

If you have any confidence at all in your ability to progress to higher levels, shouldn't you be confident of beating Nigel Wright? What will show Crolla headlines be in front of? 1500.
