Slightly underwhelming you'd have to say.

    45-4-0 , 34 years of age.

Not many names of note there.

He's the mandatory and is a step up from Matthew Hatton, at least Rhodes belongs in this weight division. So it is a step in the right direction.

Rhodes has been waiting for 2 years to get this opportunity.

If anyone who has never seen him fight thinks he will be another Matthew Hatton they are in for a surprise.

I'm not saying he will win but it will be competitive.

Rhodes has made a great comeback, and you could possibly argue that he is in his prime now. He's definitely at his correct weight anyway. And as has been pointed out, even though Matthew Hatton was on a great run himself, Rhodes may provide a sterner challenge.

He beat everybody he had to to earn it

    he pounded Moore

he hasnt lost since 06 at the weight above to a World Title Challenger and then before that hadnt lost since 02

Hes way more deserving than Hatton was

and he got overstepped by Manny and Margo

I don't see how people are justifying this fight...also it's going to be a pay-per-view fight. Ridiculous.

    What's to justify? It's a mandatory defense.

Please tell me how a fight against Ryan Rhodes is underwhelming.

I'm not a Saul fan.... but this is a step up and Rhodes is a live threat.

    April Fools, right?

Ryan Rhodes is a contender himself. He's no push over.

The only people who can think that this is a joke of a fight are:
    1. The ignorant
    2. Those with irrational hatred for Saul Alvarez.

I'm not even a fan of PippyLong Stockings....
And yes, Rhodes is a threat.

After Canelo whoops this dude, people around here are gonna be calling him a bum and no hoper, and wont give credit to Saul, just watch I'm calling it right now.

If Saul whoops him as you say, then I will definitely give him credit.

I don't dislike the guy. I'm just saying that Rhodes is a risky opponent; regardless of what some of these goofs are saying.
If Saul wins convincingly - I'll be closer to being a fan.
