All the above, combined with a massive ego that said, "I have to be the greatest, and I am the greatest, no matter what "! His knockout flurries
were thrown with such fury and precision, defending his role as king of the world. and I, who saw Robinson at his best, concur !

Love to see the accolades showered upon a true master of the craft. I wasn't around to see him fight, but watching him on films leaves me in complete awe.

Think how I feel, M. As a kid, Sugar gave me pointers in the gym.

practise practise practise. even when he was chopping his wife, he used the opportunity to perfect his craft by unleashing those devastating combinations on her innocent ass

John, that would have made my entire young career. My Dad was showing me Sugar Ray from the crib, it seemed.

    Was his advice good stuff?

Great punch arsenal, great footwork, true KO power, awesome boxer, anvil chin and the heart of a true champion. Really there was none better and we will never see the likes of him again...

Thats ace. The greats wrote the book on how to box, and its terrific when they read their chapters to us. I had a fair few moments like that myself with Eddie Futch and some of his boys. Its awesome.
